Chapter 71: Use your eyes and burn him
As Magnus and Izaak strode into the hall, they were met by Harris, who wasted no time in offering his apologies. “Your Highness, I was unaware that one day Princess Alora would be wedded to you. In my misguided attempt to protect all of us, I ordered the attack on the caravan.”
Magnus’s hand shot out, seizing Harris by the throat, his thumb applying pressure to his neck. “So, you admit your wrongdoing. How dare you violate the sanctity of my territory by sending a werewolf? You have flagrantly disregarded the rules, Harris,” he snarled, his eyes ablaze with a fiery red hue, and his fangs bared in a menacing display.
“Prince Magnus, I beg for your mercy,” Harris pleaded. As he spoke, the veins on his pale skin became visible. He reached out his hand and also managed to grasp Magnus’s wrist. However, Magnus’s strength proved overwhelming against his feeble resistance.
“Magnus, you promised Alora you would take a wise decision,” Izaak intervened and pulled back Magnus’s hand. He stood between them, and placed his hands on Magnus’s shoulders to calm him down.
Harris, on the other hand, panted while keeping his hand on his throat. He had heard of Magnus’s aggression, and now, he finally witnessed it.
“Princess Alora was unharmed that day, Your Highness. We are vampires. We cannot fight because of a human,” Harris said as he tried reminding Magnus that he couldn’t take the life of a noble vampire just because of a human.
Izaak turned to gaze at him, gesturing to Harris to stay quiet.
