Watching Lycannar handle his stepmother so tenderly, I sighed quietly as they disappeared from sight.
One by one, everyone drifted out of the dining hall until only Luna Tahlia and I remained. She watched me with those calm, gentle eyes, the kind that had seen far too much and still chose softness.
Both of us had fought for the Lycan Kingdom. And as grateful as the Lycans were, they had accepted and sheltered us as one of their own.
When our gazes met, I found myself walking toward her, wrapping my arms around her in a warm embrace.
The last time we truly spoke was before she left to choose her side, before all the chaos. When I pulled away, I searched her eyes, feeling my heart swell with admiration and respect.
