Frank smiled and nodded. “You’re right. Scum like him doesn’t deserve such honor!”

Archie and Albus breathed a sigh of relief when they heard that, but before they could celebrate, Jada suddenly strode up. “Oh, but I can!”

She took Archie off Frank’s hand and rocked him while bellowing at Archie, breaking him down into tears.

Albus rolled off the bed in fear too and was sweating down his brow as he sobbed, “Please, ma’am! We now understand that we were wrong! Please just spare my son!”

Jada laughed. “Spare you? We’re only lucky because we’re strong enough, and anyone else in our place would’ve been dead! First a heart attack, and then slander—and when you no longer have proof to back you up, you just play gangster instead. What an impeccable process!”
