Even before Laura could answer, the onlookers were snapping at Brenda, “Were you even listening?! The doctor just said you weren’t answering your calls!”

Brenda promptly whipped out her phone, and there were really a dozen missed calls.

As such, she promptly threw a hysterical tantrum. “No… My father’s very sick! He must be transferred back to the ICU!”

Laura scowled. “Sorry, but medical facilities are always in demand. When a patient’s condition is stable, it’s the rule for them to be transferred out of the ICU.”

“In demand, my ass! There’s no one here!”

Before Laura answered, Jada snapped, “What now?! With that attitude, you’d be suing the hospital for keeping your father permanently in the ICU later anyway!”

Furious, Brenda strode up, ready to slap Jada, but stopped herself as she remembered that Jada would win.
