Grant whispered to himself, “Grandpa, you truly favor him. But how much longer can you protect him?”

Grant’s smile no longer carried the charm of a gentle breeze. Instead, it resembled a

venomous serpent, cold and menacing, with eyes like a bottomless abyss. “Don’t you realize that the more you shield him, the more harm you do to him?”

“Sir.” Clarice hurried over, bowing deeply before him. “The task has been completed.”

Grant glanced at her, and she immediately understood. Pushing his wheelchair, she escorted him to the lounge to speak privately.

“That Old Master Nigel is infuriating!” Clarice fumed on his behalf. “Who does Justin think he is? You’re the one who should inherit the Salvador Corporation! Even now, the old man is hell-bent on protecting that illegitimate child. Is he senile?!”

“It’s to be expected.” Grant’s smile lingered, though it never reached his eyes. “To Grandpa, Justin is his true grandson. After all, he’s been estranged from me for a long time.”
