Chapter 271-280
The Day I Kissed An Older Man Chapter 271-āI chatted with my friends until late last night, so I decided to just stay over at their place.ā Jeremy bent down and approached Corinne. āWhat sort of friend? Are they guys or girls? What are their names? Where do they live?ā His barrage of questions offended Corinne, and she could not help but explode in a rage. āAm I not allowed to have friends? Or do you mean to tell me that Iām not allowed to have any privacy when Iām with you? Must I tell you everything in detail? How is this any different from being in prison?ā
Jeremy froze slightly, and he narrowed his eyes quietly as he looked at her unhappy, dissatisfied little face. He smiled rather than got angry at her, and his thin lips pursed slightly as nearly half his fatigue disappeared in an instant. She seemed to be rather energetic still and had the strength to argue with him.
He stared at her in silence for a while, but instead of arguing with her, he asked in a sneering voice, āWhereās your phone? You couldāve called me to inform me if you wanted to stay overnight at a friendās house, right?ā At the mention of her phone, Corinne lost some of her confidence and spread her hands open helplessly. āSorry.
About your cell phone⦠I⦠I lost it last night, and I donāt know where I couldāve dropped it. Iāll buy a new one of the same model to compensate you.ā It probably fell out during a physical conflict with the female internet celebrity the previous day, and she only found out about it when she took a taxi that morning.
Luckily for her, however, she managed to have cash with her.
Jeremy snorted softly, raised his hand, and took out the very cell phone from his jacket pocket. He held it up in front of her with his long fingers and tapped it against her forehead. ā Youāre going to lose your brain one day if you keep losing your stuff all the time.ā Corinne blinked unexpectedly, took the phone, and looked at it to confirm that it was the same one she had dropped by mistake. She raised her head in surprise and asked curiously, Whatās going on, Mister? Why is it with you?ā The man answered concisely, āSomeone found it up by the river and handed it over to the police, who then returned it to its owner.ā āI see!ā Corinne nodded and said thankfully, āIām so glad someone found it! I was worried that someone might steal the phone. I canāt afford to pay you the huge amount of money thatās tied to your bank card,ā she muttered to herself.
āCorinne,ā Jeremy called her name all of a sudden.
