Chapter 6232

When Charlie and his companions stepped out of the car, they noticed that many others around them had already done the same.

Most of the people taking this route were heading to the airport to catch flights, with only one or two hours to spare at most. Some even exited their vehicles and began to run toward the airport with less than an hour left before their flights. They still had a chance to make it in time, but waiting in the car could have meant missing their flights altogether.

Hundreds of individuals were dragging their luggage through the traffic standstill. Charlie observed that many of the locals appeared unfazed by the situation. They pulled their bags along, walking with their heads down and wearing expressionless faces as if they were indifferent to it all.

As Charlie approached the end of the traffic jam, he saw a diverse crowd of hundreds, ranging from teenagers to those in their 50s and 60s. They were wearing sweatshirts emblazoned with the slogan “Stop Global Warming” and were either queuing or sitting in the middle of the road, holding various flags and signs. Among them were a few who seemed to take on leadership roles, passionately shouting with hand-held megaphones toward the stalled traffic.

Interestingly, one of the speakers had an East Asian appearance, and her voice was particularly compelling.

Charlie listened closely and realized she was shouting in English: “You are all the culprits behind global warming! You are the primary offenders responsible for the melting of the Antarctic and Arctic glaciers!”

A nearby white girl echoed her sentiments, exclaiming, “Exactly! Baby penguins in the Arctic are losing their habitats because of you selfish humans! You drive cars that emit tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Aren’t you ashamed?”
