Edwina’s POV…

I was anxious to know it all, to know what is Ben’s plan. All this while, he has been one step ahead of us. We always thought he was the victim, as after he lost his role as the Beta, he was publicly stripped of all his title, but he was always one step ahead.

“He had a plan for every possible scenario, including the one if he ever got caught and thrown into prison,” Sonia said, interrupting my thoughts, and I glanced at her.

“So that means you knew he would escape. Why didn’t you ever tell me?” I asked. The question didn’t sound as substantial as I thought it would come in my head because, obviously, there was a lot of reason she should not have told me.

Ben was an ex-lover of hers and also my husband. That situation is already as complicated as it seems.

“Yes, I knew, but all his ideas were crazy, and I didn’t know he would carry them out and this soon. I thought it was something he would want to do in the distant future after being conversant with the prison and its lifestyle,” she explained and truly, I could understand her. When Ben had told me he would escape, I didn’t think it would be that close, and when I told Alex, he then figured it out that most likely he would be trying to escape that day. I doubted it because what were the odds that he knew about a trip that we had just planned in the sprout of the moment? That’s to say, he had already been ready and was just waiting for the right moment to execute his plan, and that happened when we left.
