She shakes her head. “No, you are wrong. He protects me. He has always protected me.”

“Is that what he tells you?” Dane questions. “He took away your Lycan abilities so that he could protect you? Do you know the name we give people that do that?” Her grey eyes peek up at us and she shakes her head.
