Maxine’s heart was shaken.She knew that Tobias was angry.
Helplessness and sadness filled her pretty face.
After a few seconds, she stood up and followed him to the study.
Tobias took out the manuals he had copied by hand and passed them to Maxine.
He said with a smile, "Take it."
"Grandpa."
Maxine lowered her head and did not dare to take the manuals.
"Take it!"
Tobias roared furiously.
"Okay."
Maxine reached out and took the manuals.
"Go and come back within five days."
As soon as Maxine turned around, Tobias called again, "Wait."

"Are you hiding something from me, Maxine?"

"Alright.I was just checking.Get up and go quickly.You must hand these manuals to James.Don’t lose them.If anyone apart from him reads them, kill them."

Maxine stood up and left in fear.
After leaving Tobias’ study, sweat rolled down her forehead.

Mount White.
Blake had hidden his treasure in a location surrounded by steep mountains and dense forests.
There was no flat ground for helicopters to land.
Thus, the helicopters had to land slightly far away from the exact location.
The forest roads were difficult to traverse as they were covered in plants and tree roots.
While advancing, the team had to constantly cut and chop off whatever was in their way.
The journey was supposed to take five hours, but James and his party took eight to nine hours.
It was already dark when they reached the cavern’s vicinity.
Blake pointed at the cavern’s entrance and said, "It’s inside.Should we transport them tonight or rest for the night?"
"Can we transport them all at once?" James asked.
Blake looked at the hundred soldiers accompanying them and nodded.
"Probably."
James thought about it for a while.
The mountain roads were challenging to span, especially at night.He did not want to exhaust the soldiers.
Hence, he said, "Let’s rest here for the night and transport them at dawn."
Daniel immediately instructed the soldiers, "We're resting here tonight."
The soldiers started to settle down.
James looked at Blake and said, "Let’s go and take a look inside."
"Alright." Blake nodded.
James turned to Daniel and ordered, "Stay here on guard, General Highsmith."
"Okay."
Daniel nodded.
James picked up a flashlight and entered the cavern with Blake.
The entrance of the underground cavern was relatively small and was covered by the surrounding tree branches.
Upon entering the cavern, they found that it was large and extended in various directions.
As Blake was familiar with the route, he led James deeper into the cavern.
After about an hour, they reached deep inside the cavern.
They came to a stop at a stone wall.
Blake pointed at the wall and said, "Back then, I hired a lot of people to help me build this secret underground room."With that being said, he walked over and pushed the wall.Dust began to fall, and the stone wall parted.The two fanned the dust away and walked inside.James took out his flashlight and illuminated the place.The space inside was not huge, but numerous wooden boxes covered in dust were stacked on the ground.James walked over and casually opened a box.
Inside were gold bars.
He picked up a piece and weighed it in his hand.
After feeling the heavy weight of the gold bar, James smiled.
"Not bad."
Blake looked at the pile of boxes and sighed.
"I’ve covered my hands with too much blood.I wanted to keep these treasures buried underground forever and never intended to return."
"I'll be using these to save lives.Take your giving it to me as an act of repentance.Maybe you won’t end up in hell after death,"
James teased.
"That's enough.Stop joking.Let’s head out first and come back tomorrow morning."
"Alright."
James nodded.
Now that they had confirmed the existence of the treasures, they only had to transport them out at dawn.
James was thinking of exchanging them for money after bringing them back to Cansington.
The two walked out of the cavern.
They sped up on their way out and arrived at the entrance in about ten minutes.
When the two left the cavern, they saw that a few trees had already been cut down to free up an area for a few campfires.
James immediately warned the team, "Please be careful.This is a primary forest.It’ll be troublesome if a fire starts."
Daniel stood up and said with a smile, "Don’t worry, James.We're watching the fires.Nothing will go wrong."
‘Just be careful," James reminded.
The forest trees had thick leaves, and if a fire were to spark, it would spread rapidly through the forest and be hard to distinguish.
Daniel shouted to remind the soldiers, "Don’t slack, guys! Make sure the forest doesn’t catch on fire!"
"Yes, sir!"
The soldiers replied in unison.James also sat down in front of a campfire.

Soon, a soldier walked over with a hare and handed it to James.
"Dragon General, we just caught this hare.We’ve already cleaned it.You can roast it right away.It tastes incredible!"
James took it and said with a smile, "Thank you."
"you’re welcome."
The soldier quickly left after passing James the hare.

James was taken aback upon seeing the unexpected guest.
Maxine took a few steps forward and stopped in front of James.
A smile formed on her pretty face as she greeted, "James."
James stared at the person in front of him to make sure it was not an imposter.
After making sure it was indeed Maxine, he asked, "What are you doing here?"
Maxine said with a smile, "Grandpa asked me to come.He found out that Madelyn was coming after you with many people and was worried something might happen to you.He sent me to check on you and to pass you some stuff."
Saying that, she took out the bundle she was carrying and handed it to James.
James took it doubtfully and asked, "What’s this, and who’s Madelyn?"
Maxine explained, "Madelyn is Mr.Gabriel’s disciple.She’s incredibly strong.Since Mr.Gabriel’s puppet, the Emperor, is dead, he sent Madelyn to replace him and take charge of Centennial Corporation.She’s the one who managed to acquire so many major pharmaceutical groups in such a short period.Also, Grandpa copied these martial art manuals from the Cadens’ library for you."
"What?" Blake's eyes lit up at the mention of the manuals.He exclaimed as he looked at the white bundle in James’ hand excitedly.
"J-James, quick! Open it and have a look." James rolled his eyes at Blake.
He was not interested in the martial art manuals right now.
What he was more concerned about was Madelyn.
"You said that Madelyn was leading people to Mount White after me?"
"Mhmi.It’s accurate news."
Maxine nodded.
"But, I didn’t see anyone.Plus, why would she be coming after me?"
Maxine explained, "It must be to prevent you from bringing the treasures back."
"Is she strong?"
Maxine shook her head and said, "I’ve never fought against her, so I can’t say for sure.But, I do know that she’s at least of the second rank."
James gasped.
He never expected his enemies to follow him to Mount White.It seemed that a battle was about to break out in the mountains.
James was not afraid to fight, but he was worried about the soldiers with him.
They were ordinary people, and if Madelyn chose to go aggressive, they would not make it out alive.
James sat down and started to think of a plan.
After a while, he looked at Maxine and asked, "I heard the Cadens and the Blithes are arranging for a marriage.Is it true that you’ll be marrying into the Blithes?"
