Thea’s sleeping appearance was incredibly endearing to him.

A faint smile graced her pretty face.

While asleep, she kicked away her blanket and exposed her neck and chest area.She was completely naked beneath the covers.

James walked over and gently drew the covers back over her exposed body.

Thea was awoken by the sensation of the blanket moving over her skin.

Thea opened her eyes groggily and saw James turning away from her.She softly grasped his hand and asked, "Honey, where are you going?"

Her sleepy and breathy voice tickled James’ brain.

"I-I’ll sleep on the floor," James quickly insisted.

Perhaps he had gotten used to keeping his distance from her while he still lived with Callahans, or maybe, there was still a line he was unwilling to cross in his heart.

Thea’s sleepiness immediately left her at that point.She rolled over and got up.Her eyes glistened with tears as she looked at James "Honey, you still resent me, don't you? Are you angry that I used to make you sleep on the floor?"

"That’s not it."

"Then, join me in bed.What's stopping you?"

James knew she would continue pleading with him about this and nodded helplessly.He climbed into bed and lay down, facing away from Thea, Although it was not the first time they shared a bed, there always seemed to be an unspoken rule between them whenever they got in bed with each other.

Despite having been a married couple, they never consummated their union or showed any intimacy with one another.

Thea wrapped her hands around his waist from behind him and pressed herself tightly against his back, whispering tantalizingly into his ears, "Honey, let’s do it.I’m ready to give myself to you.I want to be your wife not only in name but in all other aspects as well.I want us to raise our children together."

Thea’s biggest regret was never letting James touch her in the past despite being having been together for along time.

This time, she had made her decision and was ready to commit to it.

"Uhm, Thea...about that...swear I didn’t do it on purpose."

Thea said nothing and did not blame him for his shocked reaction.

The sight of Thea’s naked body in the dim morning light was almost enough to make James lightheaded.

Afraid he could not endure any longer, he quickly turned around and got out of bed.

Then, he picked up a cigarette from the bedside table and lit it.

Meanwhile, Thea got out of bed and began to get dressed.

After she put on her clothes, her phone suddenly rang.

The phone’s screen indicated that the one calling was Lex Callahan.

She answered the phone and asked, "Grandpa, why are you calling so early in the morning? Did something happen?"

Lex babbled anxiously from the other side of the phone.

"Thea, you need to hurry back right now! S-Something bad has happened!"

Thea’s blood ran cold after hearing his voice, and she replied frantically, "What happened?!"

Lex was anxious and was almost incoherent as he tried to explain the situation to Thea.

Luther, who was standing beside his master, suddenly joined in the conversation.
