Protector stepped inside.

Back in the living room, Lilia and Leran felt it too. To them, it was as if their father had suddenly disappeared. They quickly checked their communication amulets, relieved to see his rune still intact.

“I apologize for the discomfort,” Baba Yaga said as she guided Protector through a labyrinth of corridors. “Every mage must protect their secrets. This is the only way to keep others from snooping around my tower—Ripha and Solus included.”

She snorted. “The gods know how nosy those two can be.”
