Tista and Morok captured Lith’s Vital Storm and amplified it until the power surged high enough to supercharge everyone—and their equipment—as Lith advanced toward the Black Throne.

‘I’ll be honest—I’m seriously disappointed in you guys,’ Phillard said. ‘Scourge may be an asshole, but he’s the bravest son of a viper I’ve ever met. He’s marching straight toward a mage tower—possibly full of Divine Beasts—and none of you lifted a finger to stop him.

‘Yeah, I’m a scumbag. But what’s your excuse? Aren’t you supposed to be his friends—and his sister? Why didn’t any of you even offer to help?’

His words landed hard, and the worst part was that no one could argue back.

There’s no way to explain to this idiot that we agreed to Lith’s plan because we know how mage towers work—and how to counter their enchantments—without revealing Solus’ secret, Tista and the others thought in unison.

‘No time for recriminations,’ Solus said, conjuring a small hologram displaying the Black Throne’s known arrays and their areas of effect.
‘Stay clear of the magical formations. Otherwise Lith might not be the only one who needs rescuing.’

‘Got it.’ Friya nodded, checking Thundercrash’s gauge as it crept toward full charge.
‘My spells are ready. What about you?’
