“Also, since you’re supposed to step into Morok’s shoes if the worst happens, tell me something about him. Something nice.” Quylla caught her father’s smug look and shut it down instantly. “Heck, just tell me his favorite color. I dare you.”

“Plaid?” Orion knew about Morok only what was listed in his background check and whatever his daughter had mentioned in passing.

“Nice try, Grandpa. Here’s your scorecard.” She handed him a sheet of paper with one massive F written across it. “Either you do your homework, or I start limiting your grandparent privileges. Babysitting is first on the list.”

“You can’t be serious!” Orion blurted, horrified.

“I couldn’t be clearer.” Quylla folded her arms. “I’m not letting your attitude toward Morok rub off on the twins. Either you learn to love him, or you keep your distance.”

Orion stared at the F and let out a long sigh. He wasn’t afraid of Jiza, the Gernoffs, or even the Dead King. But the idea of bonding with the Tyrant? That genuinely terrified him.
