“Can I please get a little quiet?” Quylla pressed her fingers to her throbbing temples. “And Dad, what about Orikan? Why don’t you call him your ‘little fairy’ too?”

“Because he’s a boy!” Orion scoffed. “You think he’d appreciate that nickname following him around for the rest of his life?”

“Not a chance.” Every male in the room made an emphatic gesture of refusal—even Valeron the Second.

“Orikan needs something cool,” Orion went on. “Something that matches his natural talents. The ones he hasn’t shown yet.”

“You’re not wrong.” Quylla nodded weakly. “Gods, I feel like I’m losing my mind from exhaustion. Urhen, please apologize to everyone for me. I don’t think I’ll be returning to help the people of Zelex anytime soon.”

“You don’t owe anyone an apology,” the Balor said firmly. “You just gave birth. You need rest, and your children need their mother. We’ve waited millennia to undo our Fallen state. We can wait a little longer.”
