The Storm Griffon screeched in rage and frustration, unleashing a violent surge of violet aura. Refusing to abandon the enchantments on his gear or his elemental magic, Jorl activated Fire Soul.

A sea of flames swallowed both Divine Beasts, gnawing at Zoreth’s defensive layer of world energy and blinding the Skull. The artifact tried—and failed—to interpret the chaotic energy flow, sending a splitting headache through the Shadow Dragon that even Yggdrasill wood couldn’t soothe.

“Now!” Jorl roared, diving straight down at the Shadow Dragon, his mace raised like the wrath of a war god.

“Thanks for the warning!” Zoreth shut off the Skull and drew a deep breath, hoping the fog clouding her mind would clear in time to understand why the Storm Griffon had bothered shouting at all.

She released a burst of Origin Flames from across her body, making sure they bypassed her protective layer so they could strike Fire Soul at full strength.

The hastily formed corrupted flames were too thin to properly cover such a wide area, and Zoreth’s Origin Flames tore through them with ease—just as Jorl had anticipated.
