Chapter 4017
The Firbolg had severed ties with his bloodline to join Orpal, and even the Dead King himself possessed enchanted armor only for his human form.
To make things worse, the thick layer of Zero and Ragnarök’s Reverse Flow enchantment crippled the Fae’s regenerative abilities. The right arm, frozen solid, dragged Nuron down, refusing to thaw—or even detach.
Regrowing an entire limb from scratch would have taken mere seconds for a true Fae, but first Nuron had to get rid of it. The extreme cold had numbed his tissues so completely that he no longer had any control over them.
The Griffon Fetters bound him tightly, yet Lith adjusted them so the emerald chains caused minimal damage, using the frozen arm as an anchor while they coiled around the rest of the Upyr’s body.
On top of that, Nuron had to devote all his focus to his remaining arm just to fend off the relentless assault of the furious blade. The wounds it carved healed sluggishly, and each one spewed lifeblood like a fountain.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. Nuron clenched his teeth against the pain. Becoming an Upyr should’ve made me stronger, not weaker!
Fae had no heart or vital organs. The only way to kill them was to locate and destroy the Root hidden within their bodies—a Root they could freely reposition even in the chaos of battle.
