Ch. 801..805: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 801-805

Chapter 801

Anne went to wrap her arms around Sarah dazedly.

“Anne, your dad is going to be fine. It’s not possible…” Sarah was at the brinks of collapsing.

With tears in her eyes, Anne turned to look at Kathryn. “Go back inside. Keep trying. He will survive! I don’t accept this! He was fine, so how could this happen out of the blue? I thought you are all working to bring him back? What are those experts doing?!”

The sound of footsteps approached from behind them and Anthony appeared with an intimidating look on his face. “Explain yourself!”

Kathryn lowered her face and said, “Mr. Faye’s heart failed and he’s just passed away. When a person lays in bed for too long, sometimes their hearts just give out.”

It was a cruel truth for the family. They had all thought that there was still hope, only for yet another accident to take that away from them.

They all went inside to see Nigel and he laid on the bed, no longer breathing.

Anne could not believe that her father was gone just like that. She was waiting for him to wake up, there was so much that she wished to say to him and she was hoping that she could return Nigel’s company to him, yet the situation simply worsened.

“Nigel, what’s wrong with you? I dreamt of you telling me that you would be with me once you wake up, that we are going to travel the world together. Was that a lie?” Sarah held onto Nigel’s lifeless hand and muttered miserably, “Even if you don’t care about me, what about our daughter? You’ve just found Anne. She’s had just a hard life. Are you really going to abandon her? How could you…”

Tears scrolled down Arne’s face as she stepped out of the morgue.

As soon as she stepped outside, she collapsed and someone held her before she bumped into the wall.

Anne did not need to look to know who it was.

With a low voice, Anthony said, “My condolences. Don’t be too hard on yourself.”

Anne tore his arm away from her and backed away. “Your condolences? Don’t be too hard on myself?” She forced a bitter smile and said, “Do you even know how I feel right now? How could you…”

Anthony tensed and stared at her, pursing his lips in silence as frustration boiled within him.

“I don’t need your sympathy. Save it!”

“Mr. Faye helped me before. Do I really look that heartless to you?” He questioned darkly.

“And how do you treat his daughter in exchange for his help, huh?” She looked up and asked.

“That’s not the same thing.” Anthony scowled. “I will take care of his funeral.”

Anne wanted to refuse, but Bianca and Dorothy arrived just in time to interrupt their conversation.

“What’s going on? What happened to Nigel? They said his heart just gave out,” Dorothy asked.

Bianca threw herself into Anthony’s arms in tears. “Anthony, what happened? How could this happen?”

Anne could not be bothered to watch them and turned to check on her mom, while Anthony’s eyes remained fixated on her.

Chapter 802

Dorothy darted inside and shoved Sarah aside roughly.

Sarah fell onto the ground and Anne roared, “What are you doing?! Mom, are you alright?”

“She should just die!” Dorothy pointed at Sarah viciously. “You just have to stay by Nigel’s side, do you? How could this happen? Tell the truth. What did you do to him while we were not around?!”

Bianca stilled behind Dorothy.

“What can my mom do? Dad is important to her!” Anne pulled Sarah up from the ground and argued.

“Who knows if she is pretending to care?” Dorothy questioned. “Nigel was fine when we were around, and something happened to him on your watch. What did you do?”

“Mom, stop it. Do you really want to cause a scene in front of Dad?” Bianca stopped her. “I don’t think they did this to Dad.”

“Bianca, you are just too naive and that’s why they bully you all the time. Think about it. They have the motive to do this. They are scared that your Dad would wake up and expose them to what they did. That’s why they killed him!” Dorothy refused to back down and turned to Sarah. “You have to answer to us!”

“Nigel and I have lived our lives apart because of you! Had he woken up, he would have divorced you, and I wouldn’t try to stop him like I did before! That’s right! I stopped him from going through with the divorce before, because he said he would give everything up to you. Why should he? Who are you to get everything he had worked so hard for? You aren’t worthy of a single penny he has!” Sarah wiped her tears away in frustration. “I was here the whole day yesterday and Nigel had been fine, but after the nurse gave him his injection, his heart stopped. I called Kathryn here immediately and she rushed him

into the operation room right after that…you are accusing me of poisoning him? I might as well kill you if I have the time!”

“Those are just words! Who’s going to believe you?” Dorothy grabbed onto Sarah’s arms and insisted that she took the blame.

Anne turned to look at Kathryn. “What did the nurse inject into him? Was it the solution that those experts invented?”

› “We haven’t used what they provided yet. The solution we used is the same one every day

so if there’s an issue with that, Mr. Faye would have reacted to it long ago.”

“Is it possible that there’s an issue with the nurse?”

“The nurse who did the injection has been here for years, so I don’t think she would make such careless mistakes,” Kathryn said, “if you suspect that someone has poisoned Mr. Faye, we will have to dissect him.”

Anthony walked inside and commanded coldly, “Investigate!”

Bianca panicked and said, “Anthony, Dad is already gone. You can’t cut him open. How will he find peace? Anne, what are you trying to do?”

“If someone poisoned Dad, not looking into it means we are disrespecting him!” Anne insisted.

She wanted the truth and if someone had killed her father, she intended to make them pay.

“Carry on with the dissection,” Anthony said.

“Yes,” Kathryn responded.

“Also, show me the surveillance footage from twenty–four hours prior to the accident.”

Inside the security room, Anthony, Anne and Bianca were all present while the staff pulled up the surveillance footage of the specific time frame to play on the screen.

When Bianca appeared on the screen, Anne stared at her intently.

Sarah had been with Nigel all the time, but that did not mean that others could not get close to Nigel.

Could Bianca have something to do with Nigel’s death?

Not only could they all see what happened, but they could hear all the sounds that the cameras captured as well.

After the nurse had left the room, Bianca started sobbing.

“Dad, when are you waking up? Just look at what Anne is doing to me? Back when you were around, she would still hold back, and now? She is trying to steal Anthony away from under my eyes! So I am mean to her, but so what? Any woman would react the same way as me if they were in my shoes. Everyone just thinks that I’m bullying her, but do you know what she’s really like in private? She said that with the triplets on her side, she is going to be the one who marries Anthony in the end. My heart just hurt so much…I feel so miserable…Dad, wake up…”

Chapter 803

Every word Bianca said was a false accusation directed at Anne.

Anne turned to frown at Bianca and thought to herself, ‘When exactly have I mentioned anything about marrying Anthony?‘

She turned to study Anthony’s expressionless face and wondered if he was going to believe Bianca.

Whether he believed Bianca or not, all Anne wanted was the truth to her father’s death.

They continued to play the surveillance footage and found no abnormality at night until the next day.

Sarah and Anne appeared with the triplets, and naturally, everyone heard whatever they said as well.

They did not say anything important or bad about Bianca, so Anne did not feel uncomfortable at all.

However, a part of their conversation still changed the atmosphere in the room.

“As if. I can go after anything, but not others‘ men. Whatever. I don’t want to be bothered by that.”

“That’s true. My daughter doesn’t need to steal someone else’s man. We have so many eligible bachelors after us that we need to take time filtering them.”

Dorothy turned to shoot Anne a disgusted look as though she had never seen anyone more shameless.

Anne felt slightly embarrassed.

Half an hour after Anne took the triplets away, the nurse appeared as usual, to give Nigel his injection before leaving.

Sarah proceeded to massage Nigel’s legs and as she had claimed, the heart rate monitor connected to Nigel showed abnormality ten minutes later. She immediately reached for the alarm and Kathryn hurried to the room shortly after.

.“Check the nurse before and after she took the medicine,” Anne said.

The technician adjusted the footage and located the precise timing, but there was no issue found when the nurse retrieved the medicine for injection.

On the nurse’s way to the ward, someone bumped into her and the nurse said, “Watch out.”

“I’m sorry…” The person apologized and left.

The person’s back was facing the cameras, but there did not seem to be any issue there either.

The cameras followed the person until she walked into the elevator and since the person was wearing a hat, they could not see her face.

There were fewer cameras outside the hospital and once the woman made a turn into a small alley, they lost sight of her.

“I think that’s a woman,” Anne said.

“Call the nurse here,” Anthony commanded.

Kathryn made a call and showed the nurse the footage of when her cart was bumped.

“Did you not notice anything wrong?” Anthony questioned sharply.

“I…I had my full attention on the cart and didn’t pay attention to anything else. I checked after that, but nothing was missing and everything seemed fine when I used them.”

“Did you see that person’s face?” Anne asked.

“I only knew that it was a woman and because of the hat she wore, I only saw her lips, but I remember that she has a small mole at the corner of her mouth,” the nurse said.

Just then, the laboratory staff came inside and said, “Dr. Brown, the results are out. Mr. Faye was poisoned by something called Cantharidin, which caused his heart to stop.

The earth started spinning in front of Anne. She could not believe that something like that would happen despite how many people had been around Nigel.

‘Why? Who did this? What for?‘ She thought.

“You are behind this!” Dorothy accused Sarah.

“It’s not me!” Sarah denied it with frustration.

“You are the only one who has the motive. I knew that something was wrong with that will. You and Anne must have tricked Nigel into writing that will and because you don’t want Nigel to regain consciousness. That’s why you killed him!” Dorothy said.

“Why you-” Sarah was devastated as it was and was livid to be accused of murder.

“Anthony, you need to capture this woman. She is a homewrecker who hasn’t done anything good in her life. No one else could do such a thing apart from her!” Dorothy said to Anthony.

Bianca agreed, “That’s true, Anthony. Sarah is the biggest suspect. Let’s just take her into custody and question her. Dad can’t just die for no reason.”

Anne stood before her mother protectively. “You can try to lay your hands on my mom and see what happens!”

“Anne, are you sure you want to protect her? If you weren’t Dad’s daughter, I would have suspected you as well!” Bianca said.

“This is still under investigation. How do you know that we did this? We will find out what

happened once we hunt down that woman we saw on the surveillance cameras,” Anne said.

“Why bother going through all that trouble, when we can interrogate your mom into telling the truth?” Blanca said.

Anne scoffed. “No one is touching my mom under my watch!” She was determined to stop

anyone

who intended to, even if it was Anthony that she had to fight against.

Bianca ignored her and turned to Anthony. “Anthony, why don’t you tell your men to send Sarah to the police. I’m sure that she will tell the truth once they interrogate her.”

“I don’t need you to tell me what to do,” Anthony said coldly.

Bianca froze and doubted her own ears for a moment.

“Notify the police to track this woman down!” Anthony turned to leave.

“Yes, sir!”

Nigel was cremated and they had organized a funeral for him. Since he did not divorce his wife when he was alive, Dorothy and Bianca were the ones who managed everything.

Anne, too, was allowed to be there as she was Nigel’s daughter as well, but Sarah was forbidden to participate.

Sarah did not bother trying and simply stayed at home.

Anne sat alone at a corner preparing the flowers for the ceremony as tears scrolled down her tears.

She was overwhelmed by sorrow and guilt.

How could she fail to protect her own father from being murdered by someone else?

She had thought that he would wake up at a certain point, and it was so hard for her to accept the fact that he was gone.

Just then, she heard noises coming from the entrance and saw a few tiny feet in front of her.

“Mama…”

Anne looked up and saw her triplets before her with Anthony standing behind them. She got up and took their hands. “Come on. Let’s go say goodbye to Grandpa.”

Chapter 804

With tears in their eyes, the three little ones obediently knelt and prayed for their Grandpa.

Anthony was dressed in black, bowing and quietly leading the prayer.

Anne looked at her children kneeling and praying, and tears quickly welled in her eyes, flowing down her cheeks.

“Mama, don’t be sad. You’re going to hurt your eyes from all the crying.” Chloe wiped away Anne’s tears.

“If Grandpa knows, he’ll feel really bad,” Charlie said.

“Mama, we’ll be with you…” Chris was sad.

Anne saw they were trying hard to hold back their tears, and she gently caressed their head, saying, “Don’t worry. I’ll stay strong.”

Dorothy and Bianca, who were kneeling opposite them, looked at the scene of the family of five in disgust.

Was it not because she had the triplets? Otherwise, what would she be?

Anthony would not even spare her a glance!

However, Anthony had been focused on Anne since he came in, and everyone else had become the background!

At this time, there was another commotion outside. Everyone thought someone had come to offer their condolences again, but the noise was louder than before.

Anne looked over and saw Cory entering the door with Corentin following behind him.

Their subordinates all stood at the door, and there were quite a number of people.

Cory stood in the funeral parlor, looked at Nigel’s black–and–white photo, and said, “Nigel, I didn’t expect us to meet like this. No parent should ever have to see their child die earlier than oneself. Do you want me to live in guilt for the rest of my life? Nigel, I was wrong.”

Anne stood by and watched coldly.

Why was he bothered to put on an act here and shed crocodile tears?

If Cory really cared, he would have come the last time.

Nigel was already gone, and everything he said was a lie!

Seeing Cory approaching her, Anne still appeared unfriendly.

“Anne, don’t be too sad. As his father, I’m the one who failed the most. I really regret that I didn’t come to see him sooner.”

“I hope what you say is true,” Anne said coldly.

Cory did not expect her to have such a big resentment, and he was taken aback.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

Moreover, the man standing next to Anne was even more oppressive. Even though Cory had been a businessman for many years, he had rarely met such an imposing aura.

Needless to say, he knew who this person was.

“The King of Luton! I heard a lot about you!” Cory said.

“As expected, the most powerful man in Athetin is extraordinary.” Anthony’s aura was strong.

“You’re flattering me. I’m old and can’t compare to you young ones!” Cory sighed.

“At least you have your successor.” The meaning behind Anthony’s words was obvious.

Even if Corentin was silent, no one could ignore his presence. Then, he said, “I came here in a hurry last time, but let’s have a meal together when you’re free.”

“Anytime.” Anthony’s eyes were calm.

“Are these Anne’s children? So they’re also my great–grandchildren!” Cory bent down slightly, looking lovingly at the triplets.

“Great–grandchildren? So…you’re Grandpa’s papa?” Charlie asked curiously.

“That’s right. I’m your Great–Grandpa, and we’re all a family. It’s normal for a family to eat together,” Cory hinted.

Bianca walked over and greeted, “Grandpa, Uncle, this is my fiance, Anthony.”

“You’re…Bianca, right?” Cory asked.

“That’s right. I didn’t expect that you’d come. Dad will be very happy if he knows.” After that, Bianca introduced Dorothy, “This is my mom.”

“Dad.” Dorothy immediately addressed him.

Cory nodded. “We should all mourn. After all, it is the living who suffer the most.”

“Grandpa, Uncle, let’s have a seat at the dining hall next door?” Bianca took charge. Cory glanced at the indifferent Anne, then went to the dining hall with Corentin.

Chapter 805

“Mama, do we call him Great–Grandpa?” Chloe asked.

“That’s right,” Anne admitted.

The triplets noticed that Anne did not ask them to call Cory ‘Great–Grandpa‘, but they did not ask more after carefully observing her facial expression.

“Look after the children. I’m going back to check on my mom.” Anne said to Anthony. Then, she told the triplets about the plan, letting them follow their father.

The three little ones were quite obedient and followed Anthony without making a fuss.

Anne walked out of the funeral parlor. The sun was not dazzling outside, but she felt dizzy. She knew it was because she was extremely sad over Nigel’s death and had been crying all day. Nonetheless, how could she be in good spirits?

Anne could not help but wonder if she and Sarah would feel even worse once she returned to visit Sarah.

Before Anne reached the car, she suddenly felt lighter. Someone had carried her. However, Anne did not even have the energy to resist, and she was already in the car before she knew it.

Bianca, who was in the dining hall, saw the scene and stood up anxiously. At the thought of Cory and the others at the table, she had no choice but to endure it.

Why was Anne pretending to be fragile? Was it nothing more than just to gain sympathy?! Nevertheless, Bianca was secretly happy when she saw Anne being miserable!

Cory and Corentin naturally noticed that scene but turned a blind eye to it.

After Anne got into the car, she asked as she did not see the children, “Where are the kids?”

“Someone will look after them.” Anthony looked at the dull luster in her eyes and frowned slightly. “You’re going to scare the children like this.”

After saying that, Anthony’s heart was filled with distress. That was not what he wanted to say…

“The children are not here.” Anne was forcing herself to hold on. “Are you sending me back to the mansion?”

“Look at yourself. Do you think you can comfort anyone like this?”

“I’m fine.” Anne looked out of the car window.

“Go back and rest at the apartment first, then eat something. I’ll send you over in the evening.” Anthony decided for her. “I’ll ask someone to watch over the mansion.”

“Can you leave me alone?” Anne asked aloofly. She did not look back and just stared out the car window.

“Don’t forget that you’re my woman. I have the right to control you.”

Anne did not want to argue with him. “If you’re not dropping me off, let me out of the car. go by myself.”

I’ll

Anthony’s face turned unsightly, and he was exuding an imposing pressure.

Even so, Anne was not afraid, and her rebellious heart was calm.

The Rolls Loyce eventually parked outside the mansion.

“You should go back. I’ll call a cab later,” Anne said as she got out of the car.

“How long do you need?”

Anne turned to look at him, puzzled.

Anthony raised his wrist and looked at the time. “I’m free, so I’ll go with you.”

“I may take a long while,” Anne replied.

“Go ahead.”

Anne looked away in a daze.

Why was Anthony so caring all of a sudden? He was never this way before.

Was it because she lost her father?

What a rare occurrence, but she much rather not have it…

Anne walked toward the door and saw Sarah standing at the door and looking in her direction. “I didn’t expect it was you. Did Anthony’s driver bring you here?”

Anne looked at Sarah’s haggard face and found her eyes red and swollen. She knew that Sarah had been crying at home alone. Then, Anne pulled Sarah inside and replied, “Yes.”

She did not say that Anthony was in the car.

“Why are you here? Don’t you need to be there?” Sarah asked.
