Ch. 781..785: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 781-785
Chapter 781
Anne walked out of the building and saw the black Rolls Loyce parked in the distance. She hesitated for a moment, before walking over.
She had survived this far by the side of this devil, so she figured that she would not get killed simply over her recent discovery.
The car door opened and Anthony’s superior height was still obvious despite the fact that he was sitting, his intimidating presence oozing out of the tiny space of the back seat, and Anne tensed in response.
She glanced at his face, before getting in and settling down on a seat that was furthest from him. She noticed the phone in Anthony’s hand and mumbled, “You brought my phone? Thank y-” She reached out for it and immediately felt pressure around her waist as she was dragged over. “Ah!”
She fell toward him and was immediately embraced against his body, the burning temperature of his skin transferred to hers through the thin layers of fabric between them as her soft body collided with his.
Anne flushed and tried to get up, but Anthony simply strengthened his hold on her waist.” What do you want?”
“Satisfied with what you heard? Hm?” Anthony stared into her eyes dangerously.
“I…I didn’t mean to. I just went back to take my phone,” she explained gingerly.
Perhaps any explanation would seem like an excuse to Anthony.
Anthony pinched her chin and stared into her soul as he uttered, “If I touch her, I won’t have as much energy to torture you.”
Anne froze as she tried to process his words.
‘So, he isn’t sleeping with Bianca because he wants to reserve all his strength to torture me? Just how obsesssed is he with torturing me?‘ She thought.
She recalled his never–ending control over her and all the insanity he had committed, and realized that it was possible.
Anthony studied the shock on her face in annoyance. “How much longer are you going to lay on me?”
Anne came to and hastily got out of the car with her phone.
The car door closed behind her and she watched as the Rolls Loyce disappeared into traffic, thinking to herself, ‘Like I wanted to lay on you! Unbelievable! He’s probably in a hurry to sweet–talk Bianca. Bianca must be very upset, after all!‘
Anthony returned to the Archduke Group and sank into his chair. Unable to focus on work, his expression darkened.
He was the almighty Anthony Marwood and he did not need a reason or excuse to lay his hand on any woman. His only explanation to himself on his behavior was that he was not done with Anne yet, and did not want to be distracted by Bianca.
That was all.
Anne suddenly remembered about Ashlynn after getting her phone back, and tried to call her, but there was no answer.
She proceeded to call Corentin. “Uncle, is Ms. Thompson there? She hasn’t been answering my calls.”
“She left her phone in my office. I’ll let her know later.”
“Are things not settled yet? I would have thought that everything should be done by now,” Anne said.
Ashlynn should not have to stay back for two days and if there was a situation, Ashlynn should have contacted Anne.
“Anne, will it be alright for you to give me your assistant?”
Shocked, Anne asked, “Uncle, do you need an assistant?”
Corentin leaned back on the couch and stretched his legs. “She’s good.” Chapter 782
Anne thought back to when Corentin and Ashlynn had dinner together before and the way Corentin was looking at Ashlynn at the time. “Are you…interested in her?”
If he was not interested in her romantically, it could not be hard for the CEO of the Lloyd Group to hire a proper assistant.
“I am. Give me a chance?”
“What’s Ms. Thompson’s thought on this? Tell her to call me. If she’s willing to stay, I have no choice.”
Anne was reluctant and it was hard for her to find an assistant she liked. All things aside, Ashlynn resided in Luton and she did not seem to be a reckless person who would move to Athetin on impulse.
After the call, Corentin got up and went upstairs.
He was not in the office, but in his mansion at the moment. He walked toward the room and went inside the bedroom.
Ashlynn, who was seated on the couch, jumped to her feet in fear as she stared at him warily.
He strolled over and glanced at the marriage application form, noticing that there was only his signature on the paper and Ashlynn’s signature was nowhere to be found.
“How much longer are you going to make me wait?”
Terrified, Ashlynn pleaded, “Don’t make me. Someone like you shouldn’t be with someone as lowly as me…”
“You think I should look for someone with equal status as me?” He walked over to hug her from behind, before continuing in a sickening voice, “I will make a lot of money for you to spend. I mean that. Once we get married, half of what I have belongs to you. Do you know how much that is? It’s immesurable. Look at you. You are so happy that you are shaking.”
Tears scrolled down Ashlynn’s face. What sounded romantic in the past had transformed into a nightmare that haunted her.
“Come on. Sign it.” He pulled her down to sit down on his lap and grabbed her hand to make her sign next to his signature on the paper.
Ashlynn struggled and sobbed, “No, Salvatore…I don’t want to get married…”
Corentin was insanely strong and Ashlynn could not escape his hold until he had forced her to sign her name.
She immediately tried to tear the paper apart, but Corentin swiftly snatched it away.
“Salvatore…”
“It’s going to be our wedding night tonight. Aren’t you happy?” He pressed his lips against her ear and planted a gentle kiss on her skin.
Sensing the cruelty and ruthlessness hidden behind his gentle tone, she paled.
“You know that I destroy what I can’t have.”
She closed her eyes and shed a tear in devastation.
“Anne has called to ask about you. Maybe you should call her back.” He watched as she
opened her eyes hopefully, before saying, “Nevermind. I will just find someone with a similar voice to call her!”
“No. I can call her back. I won’t say anything.” All Ashlynn could think of was to hang onto the opportunity, so she would have no chance of escaping.
“Be a good girl.” He stroked her cheeks. “You are the almighty Mrs. Lloyd now. Your husband is going to take care of everything from now on.”
Ashlynn’s eyes were filled with tears and fear when Corentin left with the marriage paperwork. When the door shut behind him, Ashlynn broke down in tears as she realized her worst nightmare had come to life.
Salvatore had somehow become Corentin, which simply gave him the license he needed to do whatever he wanted.
At noon, Ashlynn was forced to eat with Corentin like they were truly a married couple.
Though anyone would feel odd to see Anne’s assistant dining with Corentin, there were only servants in the mansion and they all simply focused on their chores without saying a word.
Chapter 783
Corentin went out to take care of certain matters in the afternoon and left Ashlynn alone in the mansion.
She was allowed to walk around, but would be stopped if she tried to touch telecommunication devices or acted oddly…
any
Ashlynn took a stroll around the mansion, hoping to find a chance to escape, but she could see a maid following her with every turn she made.
She made a turn around the small hill ahead and reached a cliff that had a coursing river at the bottom of it. She stared down and wondered if she could escape by jumping down, when she spotted a pair of predatory eyes emerging from the water.
She focused on those eyes and realized it was an alligator, and there was more than just one. She counted more than four gigantic alligators.
She stumbled backward in fear and asked the maid, “Why are there so many alligators?”
Alligators were predators and it was extremely dangerous to be kept in such close proximity.
“These are Mr. Lloyd’s pets.”
Ashlynn paled. “What?”
The maid was named Amy, and she was the same maid who tried to eavesdrop outside the door. When she saw the shocked expression on Ashlynn’s face, she said in contempt, ” What’s there to be
so scared about? You are such a chicken.”
Ashlynn did not argue with her because she was the only one who knew how horrifying this was.
She would have not have given it a second thought if someone else had alligators as pets, but if Salvatore was keeping them, it was a different story and she knew that he did not keep the alligators simply for fun.
“What…do they usually eat?”
“Fresh meat, of course. The servants feed them every day,” Amy said.
Ashlynn could not help but wondered if she was reading too much into the situation.
Not wanting to stay any longer, she turned to leave.
“Hey, are you here to sleep with Mr. Lloyd?” Amy asked rudely, “I’ve seen you coming in and out of his room. Are you sleeping on his bed? I’m warning you, even though we are all just employees to him, don’t dream to be something more than that simply because you have a pretty face. Mr. Lloyd has a fiance! It’s Ms. Hilton, the lady of highest status here in Atheton. You are nothing compared to her, got it?”
Ashlynn did not care much about it and was confused by the maid’s anger.
She could not understand how she knew with certainty that ‘Corentin‘ was actually Salvatore, when the others seemed unaware of this.
It was true that throughout the past two days, all of Salvatore’s past bad habits were gone and were replaced by an elegant and gentleman-like demeanor, the only trait left was Salvatore’s ruthlessness and no matter how hard he tried to hide it, he could not conceal it.
“When did he start keeping alligators as pets?” Ashlynn asked.
“How would I know?” Amy said.
“Has he been acting differently compared to the past?”
“No. He’s always been an elegant gentleman and is still his powerful self as always,” Amy said, “why are you asking all these questions? Are you trying to become his wife?”
Ashlynn continued to push forward and was certain that something had happened, which the maid before her was unaware of.
Could Salvatore have escaped from prison and killed the real Corentin to replace him? If that was the case, Salvatore had to be the exact replica of Corentin for others to fail in noticing the difference, and that might be how he managed to fool everyone.
If Anne’s grandfather found out that the ‘Corentin’ before him was fake, he would be thrown back into prison.
Amy was increasingly irritated as she stared at Ashlynn and thought to herself, ‘She’s just an assistant. Who is she to live in such a sophisticated mansion? Who is she to be served by us? Who does she think she is?‘
Chapter 784
As soon as they were in the living room, Amy took the chance to reach her foot out to trip Ashlynn.
“Ah!” Ashlynn fell onto the ground, and Amy could not help but smile at the sight. However, before she could chuckle, a shadow loomed over her.
Amy looked up and was startled when she realized Corentin was looking down at her. She lowered her head to the point that her chin was almost touching her collar bones as she thought to herself, ‘He didn’t see me just now, did he?‘
Ashlynn was still struggling to get up when someone pulled her up. She wondered how the maid could be this strong for a moment, but immediately withdrew her arm when she saw Corentin’s face in front of her.
She kept her distance and thought, ‘What did I trip on just now? The maid was the only one next to me.‘
Thinking back to Amy’s attitude, she came to the conclusion that Amy resented her, but wondered if Corentin saw what happened.
“Are you hurt?”
Ashlynn glanced at him, feeling wary at the dark expression on his face. “No. I’m fine.”
“Come. Let me have a look.” He wrapped one arm around her shoulders and took her inside.
Once Ashlynn sat down on the couch, he stared at her palms. Noticing that there were scratches on the skin, he ordered the butler to retrieve the first aid kit.
Dressed in a perfectly fitting suit, he got down on one knee while staring at her wounds, before lowering his head to lick the blood off her palms.
“Umph…” She scowled in pain. “Don’t…”
“Does it hurt?” He asked.
She did not dare to speak.
The butler returned with the first aid kit and Corentin took some cotton with sanitizer to clean her wounds.
Ashlynn twitched in pain and he blew at her palms. “Better?”
Despite the gentleness in his every move, she felt chills down her spine as though he was putting poison on her skin.
Amy watched from afar and gaped. ‘Mr. Lloyd likes that little assistant that much?” She thought. ‘He even got down on one knee. Is he that obsessed?‘
“I’ve talked to Anne. I asked her to give you to me and she agreed.”
“What? That’s not possible.” Ashlynn panicked. “I’m Ms. Vallois‘ assistant. I need to go back to work. I can’t stay here!”
“She’s already agreed,” he repeated, tightening his grip on her hands as the looks in his eyes darkened.
Without another word, Ashlynn’s chest heaved as tears gathered in her eyes.
‘Mr. Lloyd is really into her, otherwise he wouldn’t say something like that,‘ Amy thought, how could this woman say no to that? Is she crazy? Maybe she’s playing hard to get! How cunning!‘
The sky had yet to turn dark when Corentin brought Ashlynn back to bed by force. He eagerly scanned her up and down as though he was trying to memorize every inch on her body.
He took off his glasses and instantly went back to being Salvatore.
Salvatore was a ruthless man and had never held back on his urges. He was experienced and had always made sure that he was satisfied, leaving Ashlynn exhausted.
When she eventually found out about what a monster he was, she had nothing but fear left toward him.
“It’s been five years. We’ve been apart for five years, do you know? When I first saw you in Luton, I almost lost control and took you right there and then!” He planted kisses on her neck and bit down to leave a trail of marks.
Chapter 785
She lied on the bed and trembled. “Getting hit by a car, cornered by some thugs…those were all your doing.”
“You realized that?” He kissed her tentatively. “How else will I trap you? I was pissed that you couldn’t recognize your own husband. I shouldn’t have…”
“Ah!” She gasped and tried to push him away. “Salvatore…”
“Call me Darling, like you used to,” he breathed heavily and requested.
Ashlynn shook her head in fear.
“It’s alright. You will call me that again sooner or later. Tonight is going to be a night that you will never forget…” He said, before kissing her obsessively.
By the time Ashlynn woke up again, it was already the next day. There was no one next to her, so she laid dazedly on the bed to stare at the ceiling as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Are you awake?” Corentin walked inside with a plate of food in his hand.
She struggled to get up and glared at him with fear and anger in her eyes.
He sat down by the bed and stirred the soup gently. “You’ve been up all night, so you are probably hungry. Eat up.” He moved the spoon toward her lips.
Ashlynn would rather die than to be fed by him, so she summoned up the strength to shove his hand away.
The spoon fell to the ground, and Corentin simply stared at the ground.
“You found me and married me again to make me suffer. Sure. I worked with the police to arrest you. It makes sense that you want to seek revenge! Just kill me!”
“Kill you?” He turned around, not even the glasses he wore could conceal the dark looks in his eyes. “Why on earth would I kill you? You will never understand how much I care for you.
“Understand? I only understand what a monster you are! You killed my parents, and you expect me to forgive you?”
He threw the plate across the room and the deafening sound startled her into moving backward.
“They deserved to die!” He dragged her closer, before continuing in a soft voice. “Did I startle you? It’s just a plate. It won’t hurt you. Don’t be scared.”
Tears scrolled down her cheeks as her lips quivered, as the one thing that scared her most had always been him.
“They were just your foster parents. They weren’t nice to you. They used you and bullied you. Did they not deserve to die?” He touched her cheeks and wiped away her tears.
As they moved, the blanket on Ashlynn’s body slid off, revealing the red marks all over her body.
Corentin’s amber–colored eyes darkened as he swiftly jumped onto the bed.
She burst into tears and punched him. “Just kill me, Salvatore! Ahh! Umph!”
He devoured her lips as though he was trying to swallow her whole.
Just then, his phone suddenly started ringing relentlessly.
He looked up and reached into his pocket to take his phone. He narrowed his eyes coldly when he saw the caller’s name, before letting Ashlynn go.
As soon as she was freed, she immediately hid herself underneath the blanket.
Corentin got up and stood next to the bed. “I’ll have someone bring you something to eat,” he said, before answering the phone and leaving the room.
Ashlynn relaxed and leaned back against the bedhead, determined to leave. She believed that if she could escape Salvatore once in the past, she could do so again…
Someone knocked on the door and two maids came in with a tray of food, before setting it down on the table. They cleaned the spoon and plates on the ground, and moved the table toward the bed so that Ashlynn could eat without having to get out of bed.
Amy was nowhere to be seen, but Ashlynn simply thought that perhaps Amy was otherwise occupied.
After the maid left, she stared at the tray filled with delicacies and despite the horror she had been put through, she had to force herself to eat.
She had to leave and she could not do so on an empty stomach.
After finishing the food, the maids came in to take everything away and instead of staying inside the room, Ashlynn went downstairs in search of a way out.
She went down the stairs, but did not see Amy anywhere along the way. The butler happened to walk past and she took the opportunity to ask, “Where’s Amy?”
“Oh. She quit.”
“Why did she quit?”
“She did something wrong yesterday, so she can’t stay here any longer.”
She thought back to how Amy tripped her and realized that Corentin must have seen it, but did not think much of it as she preferred to have one less enemy.
“Who did something wrong?” A woman walked over.
Ashlynn turned to look and saw a beautiful woman in long dresses and high heels, she looked sophisticated, like a model walking out of a fashion magazine.
“Good day, Ms. Hilton,” the butler greeted her.
Ashlynn instantly came to a realization of who the woman was. It was the woman whom Amy claimed to be a perfect match for Corentin.
Meredith spotted Ashlynn right away. She had heard news that Corentin was keeping a mistress in his mansion. Though she felt that Ashlynn seemed like an ordinary woman, she still felt defensive toward her. Deciding to pretend that she did not know a thing, Meredith asked, “Who are you? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before.”
“This is Mr. Lloyd’s guest,” the butler said.
“A guest?” Meredith walked toward Ashlynn and introduced herself. “Hello, I’m Meredith Hilton. I’m Corentin’s…” She paused and simply smiled mysteriously. “I didn’t know Corentin had a guest this… young.”
“Have you known him for many years?” Ashlynn asked.
Meredith had not expected her to ask such a question and felt as though she was being challenged.
“I hope you won’t misunderstand. I am just curious. That’s all.”
Meredith shot her a careless smile. “It’s fine. I can tell you. We’ve known each other for years. Our families are friends and business partners, and we are engaged. So, why are you here?”
