Ashlynn grinned. “Sure.”
She gave it to Ashlynn because Ashlynn was her personal assistant whom she trusted.
If she had given it to someone else, people might be unhappy and think that she was biased.
Anne worked the whole morning and went to the hospital with Ashlynn in the afternoon.
Sarah’s body was fine, so it was almost impossible for her to just stay in bed.
Therefore, when they found her, she was next to Nigel, massaging his calf muscles.
“Mom.”
Sarah was delighted to see Anne. “When did you get back?”
“Last night. You were not here all night, were you?”
“No, you could verify with the nurse.” Sarah did not admit it.
“Then, did you receive the sea urchin that I delivered to you? I sent it to your ward. It was supposed to arrive by this morning,” Anne asked.
Sarah was exposed, and she tried to laugh to cover it up. “It was hard for me to stay in bed all day, so I came here. I did not do anything too difficult, and it’s instead a good idea to get some exercise!”
Anne stood by the bed and looked at her father, who looked the same. “Dad, I brought the kids to the ocean. We even went diving in the sea, and it was fun. When you wake up, I will bring you and Mom.”
Even though she knew that he would not respond to it, she still wanted to say it.
What if he would?
There was always hope.
“Yes, please wake up. We will always wait for you.” Sarah felt bad.
Anne stayed for over an hour and then left with Ashlynn.
Ashlynn said she would pick up the sea urchin after work, and Anne just let her be.

“No worries, I am here to visit ma’am as well,” Ashlynn said.

Before this, my dad planned to expand the factory to manufacture medical devices, but he could not find suitable professionals to collaborate with. Ashlynn’s question was on point. After all, her uncle appeared out of nowhere, and now he was holding out an olive branch. She could not help but feel a little alarmed about it.
Anne said, “He is my uncle. There should not be any problem. Or perhaps he wanted to help out a little because of what happened to my dad.”
What intention could he have?
The Lloyd Group was an internationally recognized business, and her father’s small business was nothing on par with it.
Corentin had already explained to her over the phone that he was doing it for the family.
Around four in the afternoon, Corentin came to Luton and went to Anne’s office to discuss the collaboration. He even brought his personal assistant along.
Obviously, Anne was still deliberating.
When Ashlynn served the coffee, she overheard Corentin, “Is there any other problem? You have read the agreement, and this is totally beneficial to your company. You will not have this privilege if you collaborate with any other company.”

“I know, but why did you want to collaborate with me? Our company is small, and collaborative parties are usually bigger companies.” Anne had her reservations.

That explains what he thinks about the whole situation.” Corentin sipped the coffee and then asked, “Aren’t you curious about what happened between them back then?”
Anne was curious.
She wanted to know what kind of event led to his father being thrown out of the family, and so much so that her grandfather could ignore her father for so many years.
She took a pause and then said, “Since you are my father’s brother, we could do a kinship test. If there is no problem and the senior management agrees, then we can collaborate.”
Even though Anne’s company did not have the power and the money that the Lloyd Group had, she still had to have her attitude.
Plus, the kinship test was essential, just in case.
“Sure,” Corentin agreed. He looked at the coffee mug in his hand and said, “You can take this and give me a call if there is any problem.”
“Alright.”
Corentin left. Anne kept his mug and then went to the hospital after work.
She asked Kathryn to assist with the kinship test.
She thought that since Corentin agreed to do the test, there should not be any problem with it.
It was only a procedure to obtain confidence from the company’s senior management.
Of course, the management would hope that Anne could proceed with the collaboration, and then they could sit around and wait to pocket the money.
However, she also did not wish that they would pick up on any flaws or loopholes.
That night, after Anne accompanied Sarah back to the mansion, she received Kathryn’s call, informing her that the results of the kinship test were ready.
The next morning, Anne went to the hospital alone.
Sarah just recovered, and Anne did not allow her to tag along to the hospital. She asked the nanny to keep her on watch and to give her a call if Sarah was not cooperative.
When she arrived at the hospital, she first went to see her father, then to see Kathryn.
Kathryn informed her on the phone to say they were biologically related.
Anne was not surprised. She brought the reports back to the office and asked Ashlynn to arrange a meeting with the senior management.
When Ashlynn was arranging the documents, she saw the report and its outcome.
“Ms. Vallois, did you question your uncle’s authenticity before?”
“In fact, I had seen my father’s family portrait before, and I had investigated. My father was indeed the eldest son of the Lloyd family. I took it one step further to conduct a kinship test, just in case. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry,” Anne said.
Ashlynn was comforted by the results of the kinship test too.
The data was convincing evidence that Corentin and Salvatore Yeager were two different persons.
In the meeting, Anne presented the direction to collaborate with the Lloyd Group, and as she expected, the senior management supported the idea after the accident. They thought that once the collaboration was set in stone, they would be able to earn from it.
Therefore, it did not take much effort from Anne to convince them.
Anne instructed Ashlynn to distribute the agreement.
When she reached Mr. Walker, he joked, “Ms. Thompson, is the sea urchin good? Look how good Ms. Vallois is to you. She even brought you sea urchins from her trip. You better be working hard!”

Ashlynn was stunned, then she subconsciously turned to look at Anne. She realized Anne also looked as though she was caught off guard and immediately understood that she was not the one who told him about it.
Therefore, she denied, “There’s no such thing. I did not receive the sea urchin.”
“How is that possible? You told me that Ms. Vallois gifted you sea urchin, didn’t you?” Mr. Walker was still smiling.
It was impossible that Ashlynn had told him about it. She immediately realized that someone was attempting to frame her. “When did I say so?”
“Yesterday, after work!”
“Where? I may have a bad memory. Otherwise, we could check the surveillance camera footage in the office,” Ashlynn said as she distributed the documents.
“Your memory is indeed bad. We met outside on our way to the train station.”
Ashlynn finished distributing the documents, sat down, and said, “There are surveillance cameras, too, along the way to the train station. We can check that.”
“Why are you so serious about it? There’s no one snatching it away from you anyway. Say, didn’t you carry the foam box all the way to the train station? Ms. Vallois is so nice to you. We don’t have that kind of privilege!” Mr. Walker continued joking.
Other senior managers said, “She is the new assistant. It is good to show her some extra care.”
Even though they said so, who knew what they thought deep down?

After the meeting, they returned to the office. Ashlynn explained, “Ms. Vallois, I really did not tell anyone about it. I did not speak to Mr. Walker at all over the past two days.”
Anne sat down in her chair and said, “Of course, I know it was not you.”
“Then how did he find out about the sea urchin?”
Anne pondered. “It must be related to Dorothy and Bianca. I manage my father’s company, and the two of them would not simply give up on this company. I’m afraid they are secretly trying to create roadblocks and whatnot for me.”
“How should we handle Mr. Walker?” Ashlynn asked.
“Right, who is in charge of the factory expansion?” Anne asked.

Ashlynn was shocked. Why did Anne give him so much power and authority even though she knew that Mr. Walker could be a traitor?
Could she be thinking of getting Mr. Walker on her side?
“Call him in,” Anne said.
“Yes.”
Soon, Mr. Walker came. Anne said, “You will be fully in charge of the factory expansion. There should be no problem for you, should there?”
Mr. Walker was delightfully surprised. “Of course, there is none! I will certainly manage it well and will not let you down!”
“That is great.”
Anne watched as Mr. Walker left happily. She snickered. It was better for him not to disappoint her. Otherwise, it would be hard for her to manage.
Anne needed to go to the Lloyd Group to execute the agreements.
She would have to be outstation for two days.
That afternoon, she went to the hospital to visit Nigel and bumped into Bianca, who was standing arrogantly in her high heels shoes and questioned, “Finally, you are willing to come back. I thought you decided to rove about the ocean forever! You must be delighted, aren’t you?”
“I spent some time with the children. Is there any problem?”
“You know it well enough, whether you were spending time with the children or using the children to seduce Anthony.”
Anne was too lazy to bother with her and decided to leave.

She did this for two reasons. Firstly, she did not want the kids to be in contact with Bianca, and secondly, the kids could distract Sarah so that she would not keep thinking about Nigel.
She watched the triplets having fun with their grandmother from afar, then picked up her phone to call Anthony and informed him about the kids‘ whereabouts.
“Is this a hit and run?” Anthony’s voice was deep and threatening.
“Didn’t you say that I can decide for the kids? I am only informing you out of respect. I am not disturbing you, am I?” Anne said obnoxiously.
She did not hear a reply from Anthony but heard Bianca’s voice calling Anthony.
Anne did not say anything but hung up right away.
Anthony was frowning, his face sunk.
“Anthony, let’s have dinner now. Are you done with work?” Bianca asked gently.
Anthony tossed his phone to the table, stood up, and then grabbed the coat on the back of his seat. “I have something to do at the office. I am not coming home for dinner.”
“Is it urgent? Can you go after dinner?” Bianca was desperate.
“No need, I will grab a bite in the office.” Anthony walked out of the study room and went through the hallway.
“Then will you be coming back at night?”
“Don’t wait for me.”
Bianca pursued outside and watched as Anthony entered the car. The car then drove away until it disappeared from her vision.
She then kicked the fence next to her hard.
The marble stones were hard, and the impact caused her foot to hurt. Her face was twitching.
Bianca went back to the study. She saw the laptop on the table.
She turned on the laptop and checked the browsing history. Soon, she saw a bunch of beautiful photos and videos.
It was all of Anthony, Anne, and the kids, in the ocean.
Anthony’s interaction with Anne, plus the kids‘ photo bombing, looked like a complete family.
Bianca was so infuriated that her face was twisted, and her nails dug into the edge of the table. She looked at Anne’s face menacingly, completely unaware that the nail on her index finger was broken.
Why? Why did she always have to fight against her?
Anthony would never let Anne replace her. It was impossible!
However, why did she feel unusually threatened by these photos and videos?
No, it must be her illusion!
Anthony was only behaving this way for the kids!
It was always about the kids!

Anne pursed her lips, and she still did not dare to provoke him too far. She said innocently,” They went out on the ocean and were keen to share their experience with their grandma. I think they will be visiting their grandfather in the afternoon then. How am I crossing a line? Why are you here this early? Did Bianca go back already?”

Anthony stood up with a strong aura and then strode forward. He reached his arm across the table in between them, and then pinched her chin, bringing it forward, causing Anne’s chest to be sticking right up to the edge of the table.
His lips were so close to hers. “Don’t you ever let me find out that there was another person.
This kind of warning reminded Anne about bumping into Lucas at Canbridge before. “This world is not mine. Can I even decide who I will bump into?”
Anthony’s grip was firmer. “I don’t want to hear any excuses.”
Anne frowned in discomfort, her gaze locked onto Anthony’s unpleasantly. “I say, you are unreasonable.”
“It’s even better for you to experience it.” Anthony’s lips pressed right onto hers and swallowed her entire little mouth.
Anne felt her breath sucked out and subconsciously attempted to push him away.
Anthony cupped the back of her head right away, and she could not move. His kiss was passionate and deep, forcefully owning her.
Anne was almost suffocated when he finally let go of her. She was out of breath and limp.
Her breath was uneven, her cheeks red. She looked like a young girl, making Anthony’s muscles tingle for a second.
Anne lifted her glittery gaze and saw the danger in Anthony’s eyes. She said, “Don’t do anything stupid here…”
“This is not my first time anyway.” Anthony’s thumb brushed against her cheek, and her supple skin felt the burn. The dangerous feeling was intense.
“Didn’t Bianca satisfy you last night?” Anne was sarcastic.
“Why? Are you jealous?” Anthony looked at her displeased face, his eyes incomprehensible.
“Yes, I am. Can you break up with her?” Anne asked, and then grabbed his coat and gently pulled him over, “As long as you break up with her, I can give you everything that you want.
“Do I even need your permission for anything that I need?” Anthony’s eyes were like two bottomless deep wells, and he looked as though he would swallow her entire existence in the next second. “I want your body, and nobody can stop me, not even yourself.”
Anne frowned. “Do you know this method? Of course, I cannot stop you if you use threats every time. Whatever.”
Anthony’s face was dark, and his hawk eyes looked at her from above menacingly.
He would really like to snap her neck right now.
His veins were dilating and bulging on the back of his hands, almost as though he was trying hard to suppress himself.
