Ch. 731..735: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 731-735
Chapter 731
The smile on Anne’s face was so bright that Anthony could not take his eyes off it.
“Have you all eaten your breakfast yet?” Anne asked the triplets.
“Mama hasn’t eaten yet! Has Mama eaten already?” Chloe asked.
Anne smiled. “Not yet.”
Hayden said, “Then, right on time. The children can eat with their mother.”
Anthony picked up Chloe. “Come on, let’s go and eat.”
Anne held her two sons in each hand and headed to the dining room. She noticed that Bianca was not there.
It must be true that she had left last night, just as Anthony had said.
The breakfast at Royal Mansion was sumptuous, taking up half of the table. It looked just like a buffet.
However, it was not the first time Anne had eaten here, and she was used to it.
Looking at the triplets enjoying their meal with a good appetite, Anne was very satisfied.
“Mama, did Mama go on a date with Papa last night?” Chloe asked, with her eyes wide open, full of curiosity.
Anne was about to make an excuse when Anthony spoke up, “You made an excellent guess.
“What did Papa and Mama do during the date?” Charlie asked.
“What do you guys think?” Anthony did not answer but returned the question to them instead.
Chloe spoke up first, “Erm… I know! Did you buy Mama some delicious food and some interesting stuff?”
“Yes.”
The triplets looked envious.
Anne lowered her eyes and let them do the talking. She could not stop them anyway.
Chris asked, “Can we go together? We want to enjoy good food and have fun too.”
“Can we, Papa and Mama?” Chloe asked.
“Yes!” Charlie said excitedly.
Anne looked at the three little ones, filled with so much anticipation. She was unable to refuse.
The five of them, she and Anthony, and the triplets going out together?
This had never happened before.
The only chance she had was gone because she did not look at her phone.
Would Anthony agree…
“I’ll arrange a time later,” Anthony said.
Anne was slightly stunned and looked at him.
“Is there a problem?” Anthony looked at her with his dark eyes.
“No…” How dare she have other opinions?
Besides, bringing the kids out was something she had always wanted to do.
The three kids must be very happy to have a playdate with Mama and Papa.
She had no reason to refuse.
“Great!”
“I’m so excited to go out with Papa and Mama!”
“And I’ll take my knife with me!” Charlie kicked his short legs, got out of the chair, bouncing happily around.
Anne smiled and caught him. “Eat your food first.”
“I’ll finish the whole table!” Charlie said dominantly as he placed his hands around his mother.
Anthony smirked and said, “Just finish the ones in front of you.”
Chapter 732
The maid standing at the restaurant’s entrance had a spark in her eyes.
She was the one who had been bribed by Bianca.
However, she left Dorothy’s number just in case the matter was uncovered and Bianca was exposed.
As soon as Dorothy got the news, she informed Bianca.
Bianca was so angry that she smashed the oxtail soup in front of her on the floor. “Anne, that b*tch! I’ll kill her! Why do you have to snatch him away from me?”
“Don’t be angry. It’s not worth it to piss yourself off over that kind of person!” Dorothy felt sorry for her.
Bianca lay back in her chair. “I called Anthony last night, and he said he was busy. I thought he was actually busy, but it turns out he was with Anne! Anne must be beside Anthony when I called, right? She must have been laughing at me!”
She was so angry that she smashed all the other cups, plates, and spoons onto the floor, scattering them over the place.
“No, no, no! She’s just a mistress. How dare she laugh at you?” Dorothy reassured her.
“She is the most shameless woman that I’ve ever seen!” Bianca’s eyes were full of rage. “I won’t let her get away with this! Tell the maid to keep an eye out for them, and tell me the exact date and time they’re going out!”
“Don’t worry about that. I’ll tell her that.”
Once Bianca had planned everything out in her mind, she was much calmer.
Just like what she wished for in the past, she could definitely ruin their plan again this time!
Anne did not know when Anthony’s arrangement would be, but it would not take long.
Then, she should not procrastinate. Instead, she should finish it as soon as possible.
Before it was time for lunch, a call from Dr. Brown came through.
Anne’s heart was filled with anticipation when she saw the caller. Could it be that her father had woken up?
“Ms. Vallois, can you persuade your mother to return for a rest? I see that she is not in good spirits. It must be because she has not rested well. It would be bad if she overworked herself.”
Anne left her work and hurried to the hospital.
As soon as she entered the ward, she saw Sarah massaging Nigel’s arm. She angrily walked over and said, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you here so early?”
“I woke up early and had nothing to do. That’s why I came.” Sarah was a little uneasy.
Anne put her bag aside. “Mom, what will I do if you wear yourself out? What if Dad gets worried?”
“It’s good if he feels worried. Look at him. He’s just sleeping all day. Why can’t he notice I am here every day.” Sarah was in a low mood.
Anne walked closer to her and noticed the tiredness and paleness visible on her mother’s face. She felt heartbroken. “Dad must know that you care about him and worry about him, but he would rather not see you suffer and endure so much. Mom, just go home. I’ll get the driver to drop you off.”
She used to take her beauty sleep every day and now gets up early to visit the hospital daily. It really showed how much she cared for her dad.
So during the absence of her father, how did her mother get on with her life?
As she watched the car her mother was in drive away, she wondered in her heart if Sarah agreed to marry Ron without a care in the world because of the absence of her father.
Anne returned to the ward, sat on the stool looking at her dad, and almost cried. “Dad, Mom is so worried about you. Can you please wake up? We can be together when you wake up.”
She held his hand, which had been cold since he’d been lying here.
She pressed that hand to her face as tears fell. “Dad, wake up… We can’t live without you… Can you please wake up? I finally have a father, so please don’t leave me…”
Anne lay on the edge of the bed for a long time. She calmed down before she sat up straight.
She did not want to go back to the office, as all she had to do today was sit there, doing nothing.
So she called Ashlynn. “Bring the contracts on my desk to the hospital. I’m not going to the office today.”
“Okay, I’ll be right over.”
Ashlynn knew what was happening. Something had happened to Mr. Faye, so Ms. Vallois had to take on the heavy responsibility of managing the company.
She was a few years younger than her. Most people that age would be having fun. It was definitely hard for her.
Ashlynn got out of the taxi and ran toward the hospital entrance. She did not notice a car making a turn out next to her.
“Ah!”
Ashlynn lost her balance and fell to the ground. The contracts in her hands scattered all over the ground.
She was stunned with fear and looked up to see the Bintley right in front of her. The black Bintley was like a monster that could devour her in the next second.
Chapter 733
Ashlynn returned to her senses and realized she was not hurt.
It was because she was startled that she lost her balance.
She squatted down to pick up the contracts scattering on the floor. Ms. Vallois was still waiting for her.
“Is everything all right?” A man with a low voice said as he helped her to pick up the contracts.
“It’s fine.” Ashlynn was fine, so she did not want to guilt trip anyone. The man gave her the contracts he had picked up. He had a large, slender, good–looking hand with a valuable wristwatch. Ashlynn took the contract, looked up, and said, “Thank you…… Ah!”
She shrieked and sat down on the ground. The contract in her hand once again scattered all over the place.
However, Ashlynn could not care less. It was as if her soul had left her as she looked at the man in front of her. Her face was pale, and she was trembling all over.
Corentin was puzzled. “What’s wrong with you?”
“No… This is impossible… You’re dead…” Ashlynn was trembling so hard that she was unable to form a sentence. She looked at the man in horror as she moved her body backward.
“Do you know me?” Corentin felt even more puzzled and moved closer forward.
“Don’t come near me, don’t come any closer!” Ashlynn shouted in fright.
Corentin stood still and looked at her. “Alright, I’m not coming any closer. You will affect other people’s cars from coming in and out if you block the way. Would you get up first?”
Ashlynn could not care less if she blocked the way. Instead, her eyes locked on the man.
He had an almost identical face to the nightmare she tried so hard to forget. Now it appeared without a sign, making her terrified and uneasy.
The driver standing at the back said, “Mr. Lloyd, let me handle it. Please get into the car first.”
Corentin glanced at Ashlynn, frowned slightly, and returned to the car silently.
The driver’s attitude was not as polite. “What’s the matter with you? If you’re not hurt, just go away! Why are you blocking the way? Do you know who you are running into? How dare you? It’s fortunate as Mr. Lloyd is nice and doesn’t mind. Hurry up and leave!”
Ashlynn finally regained her composure after Corentin was no longer in front of her. She picked up the contract on the ground in a panic.
She turned around and walked away, although her body was still trembling.
She did not dare to look inside the car.
After walking for quite some distance, she turned back and realized the black Bintley was already out of sight.
The strength in Ashlynn’s body seemed to have been drained away, and her eyes still seemed terrified.
‘Mr. Lloyd? His surname was Lloyd?‘
‘Wasn’t that her dead husband, Salvatore?’
Why did he look so much like him if it was not him? He just dressed differently and wore glasses.
Apart from that, they looked exactly the same.
Could two different people look so identical?
“Ms. Thompson.”
Ashlynn, who was lost in thought, was startled and turned back to see Anne walking over.
Anne looked at her face as if she was frightened and asked with a smile, “You sure get startled easily?”
“No, no, it’s my fault. Is this the one?” Ashlynn said, handing over the contract.
“Right.” Anne flipped through it. “You can go back now!”
“Okay.” Ashlynn then turned around and left.
Ashlynn was unable to stay focused even after she returned to the office.
She had been thinking about the man she saw at the hospital.
She was so afraid. Could that be the wicked man Salvatore?
No, it could not be. Her nightmares had disappeared for a long time.
The police had informed her personally that his death sentence had been executed, and she had gone to the police station to collect his stuff.
Although she tried to calm herself with the thought, she was still uneasy.
When she returned to her rental house after work, her toy poodle was curling up on her bed.
Its head raised at the sound of movement.
Chapter 734
“Chichi, are you hungry?” Ashlynn hurriedly fed it as soon as she got home.
She could only give Chichi one meal in the morning and one in the evening because of her job.
‘Honey, why are you doing this to me? Are you satisfied now that I’m dead?‘
‘Ashlynn, look at me. I’m covered in blood. You can touch and feel if it is blood.’
‘Ashlynn, you sent me to jail. I will haunt you even if I am dead!‘
‘Ashlynn!‘
“Ahh!” Ashlynn woke up from the nightmare, sweating profusely and trembling with fear.” It’s not my fault… It’s not me, no…no…”
“Woof!”
Ashlynn was so scared that she covered her head with her hands. She finally returned to her senses after hearing Chichi’s bark. She stared blankly at Chichi and her rental room, calming herself down slowly.
She said while taking Chichi in her arms, “I’m sorry. I scared you, didn’t I? I had a nightmare. He appeared in my dream again. I haven’t had a dream like that for a long time……”
Every day after Salvatore’s execution, she was haunted by nightmares, and it took five years for her to escape from them.
She thought she would not have nightmares anymore.
However…
Ashlynn felt so confused when she thought of the ‘Mr. Lloyd‘ in front of the hospital.
‘What if Salvatore didn’t die?‘
Ashlynn took a day off from work after receiving permission from Anne. She went to Athetin, the city she never wanted to set foot in again and the city that gave her too much heartbreak.
She went straight to Salvatore’s graveyard.
She had never been here since she buried him.
It had been five years, but the tomb was still frightening.
Ashlynn placed the flowers she brought on his tomb. “Salvatore, if there is another life, I am willing to use mine in exchange for your beautiful and happy life. Let’s just end it like this…”
She was afraid.
The trauma of Salvatore’s death had long since taken root in her heart, or else she would not have been scared when she saw someone similar to him.
If she could, she would never want to be involved with anything related to Salvatore again. Suddenly, she heard a whoosh sound behind her. She was so scared that fell to the ground.
Looking back, she saw a black crow preaching on the treetop. Its round eyes looked at her.
Ashlynn was so frightened that she dared not to stay for a second longer. She left in a hurry.
After that, she went to the police station and looked for the officer who used to be in charge of Salvatore’s case. She brought him a cup of coffee.
“Yes, I saw a man who looks exactly the same as Salvatorein in Luton, but he drives a Bintley and wears glasses. His vibe is completely different from before, but they really do look alike!” Ashlynn described the man to him.
The officer laughed. “There’s nothing strange in the big world, so it’s nothing to be surprised about if there is someone who looks similar to him. I know what you’re thinking, but I can tell you certainly that I witnessed Salvatorein’s execution with my own eyes.”
Ashlynn’s fingers twitched.
The officer said, “You also came to collect the ashes yourself at that time. You didn’t forget that, right?”
Ashlynn shook her head. “No……”
After getting a confirmation from the officer, Ashlynn felt calmer.
However, deep down, the scar formed by the incident still existed.
She and Salvatore grew up in the slums of Athetin, where life was a mess.
There were so many gangsters, and Salvatore was one of them.
Her first encounter with him began with an umbrella.
He was beaten by his drunken father, left with cuts and bruises, and chased out like a dog in an alleyway.
He was in a terrible state, drenched by the heavy rain.
Ashlynn, who was carrying an umbrella, passed by and saw him. She stood by his side and took him under her umbrella.
Chapter 735
She was only sixteen at the time. Even though she lived in a slum where people were impolite and the environment was dirty, she was still kind and naive.
For a long time after, she still regretted meeting Salvatore.
She had no idea that he was born with the blood of the devil…
After clearing her doubts, Ashlynn returned to Luton.
She continued working, treating the incident as a small episode in her life that had nothing to do with her.
The officer also said he was just someone who looked alike…
The next day when she went to work, Ken asked her to deliver documents to Anne.
She knocked on the door and went in. She saw that a guest was there.
Ashlynn was once again shocked when she saw the guest’s face. Her heart almost stopped.
Corentin gave her a nod.
Noticing their interaction, Anne asked, “Do you know each other?”
Ashlynn lost her ability to speak and did not know what to say.
Corentin was much calmer. “I went to the hospital the day before yesterday, and my car almost hit her.” After saying that, he slightly turned his face in Ashlynn’s direction. “I didn’t expect her to be your assistant. The world is really small.”
“Is everything all right?” Anne asked.
She still took care of her new assistant well because she was quite nice. She completed all her responsibilities neatly and efficiently.
“Ms. Vallois, thank you for your concern. I’m fine.” Ashlynn tried to calm herself, but her
mind was in turmoil.
Why was this man here?
Even if she was certain that Salvatore had been executed, she was still afraid to look straight into this man’s face.
All she could do was convince herself that this man had nothing to do with Salvatore.
Anne took the contract and said, “Alright, Uncle. Do you want some coffee?”
“Sure.”
“Ms. Thompson, please make us two cups of coffee.”
“Yes, miss.” Ashlynn turned around and left the office, steadied her frightened heartbeat, and headed for the pantry.
Two cups of coffee were quickly brewed and brought to the office.
One cup was placed in front of Anne.
When the other cup was placed in front of Corentin, every nerve in her body felt resistant.
Especially when his eyes looked at her, she almost spilled the coffee.
Ashlynn lowered her head and left the room. As she was closing the door, she heard the man say, “Your assistant is quite interesting. She seems to have lost her soul every time she sees me.
“Huh? Is it so?”
She could not hear them anymore after she had closed the door.
However, Ashlynn was more certain that this man was not Salvatore.
If it had been Salvatore, he would not have reacted like this when he saw her.
Even his eyes seemed unfamiliar.
Besides, Ms. Vallois call him uncle? So, was he related to Ms. Vallois?
He said he went to the hospital, so he must have gone to see Ms. Vallois’s father.
Corentin was long gone when Ashlynn entered the office in the afternoon.
After she had finished her work, Ashlynn did not leave immediately.
“What’s wrong? Is there anything else?” Anne asked.
“Ms. Vallois, is the person in your office this morning your uncle?”
“Yes, he is my father’s brother, so he is my uncle. His name is Corentin, and we only met not long ago.”
“He doesn’t have the same surname as your father?” Ashlynn asked.
Anne said, “No, because they have the same father but different mothers. He came over because of my dad. He lives in Athetin and will be going back in a couple of days.” Seeing Ashlynn lost in her
thoughts, she asked, “Did my uncle really not hurt you that day? You can talk to him if he did, as it’s his fault for hitting someone else.”
“No, I was walking too fast that day. It wasn’t all his fault…I’ll leave first then.” Ashlynn left the office.
Anne felt Ashlynn’s reactions were a bit abnormal, but she decided not to think much of it.
Ashlynn returned to her seat and used the computer on her desk to search for Corentin’s name.
