Ch. 691..695: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 691-695

Chapter 691

If Sarah was at the hospital as well, Dorothy and Bianca would definitely try to provoke, or even hurt her.

Anne was concerned. She did not want her mother to get hurt when her father was still unconscious.

The door to the meeting room flew open and there were men and women sitting by the long meeting table, to whom Anne assumed were the experts Anthony had hired.

Anthony sat at the further end with Kathryn on one side and next to him were Dorothy and Bianca.

Both Dorothy and Bianca stared at Anne coldly and she simply proceeded to take her seat next to Kathryn.

Anthony glanced at his watch and Kathryn took it as a hint to start the meeting. “Everyone should have a copy of the medical report. You all know that he is currently in a coma. Anyone here who manages to improve his condition even by the slightest will be rewarded handsomely.”

Everyone knew what she meant by it, that payment was not an issue if they had the talent worthy of it.

One of the men looked at the report and said, “His brain looks like a block of bean curd after it’s fallen onto the ground. There’s no coming back from that.”

“Even if he could recover slightly, it won’t mean much because he still can’t wake up,” another expert added.

The others frowned thoughtfully and it was clear that they were not optimistic about the situation.

Anne scanned each of their faces, hoping that one of them would deliver good news, but her heart sank at the silence.

“We didn’t pay you to come here and say those things,” Bianca said, “be clear. Is my dad going to get better or not?”

“Um…we can’t be sure. Trial and error is the only way here, and the results might not be that promising,” one of the doctors said.

Another agreed, “Yeah, there’s no doctor on earth who would guarantee that he can cure a patient.”

“So you are saying that there’s hope?” Bianca asked.

“We can only try.”

Anne had her own ideas, but did not dare to say a word. After all, treatments would cost money and she did not have any, which was why she turned to look at Anthony hopefully.

Dorothy sneered, “Maybe you are just dragging this out to earn more money.”

Offended, one of the experts said. “Watch your tongue! As doctors, treating the patients is our top priority so don’t you dare make that kind of assumption. We would be scammers if we promise you that we can definitely cure him!”

Bianca shot Dorothy a displeased look, before turning to smile at the others. “I’m sorry. My mom is just too worried. She couldn’t quite control herself because she didn’t sleep the whole night. Please forgive her.”

The tension on the experts‘ faces eased. As doctors, they had seen plenty of things. throughout their careers and they could sympathize with the pain of the family members.

Anthony scanned every expert authoritatively and said, “Those who don’t think there’s hope, stand up.”

The experts shot one another hesitant looks and stood up.

Anne’s blood ran cold as more and more people stood. The people before them were world -class experts and if they determined that there was no hope, Nigel was never going to wake up again.

In the end, only three of them remained seated.

Anthony studied them sharply and said, “Explain.”

“We can try, but there’s no guarantee.”

“Yes. We belong to the same research center and we’ve been making progress in our research on brain death…”

“Are you sure you are not using Nigel as your lab rat?”

Chapter 692

“Relax, there won’t be an issue in applying that to a human being. The worst outcome would simply be no outcome at all,” the expert said.

“It’s settled, then. Kathryn, report the daily progress to me,” Anthony commanded.

“Yes, Mr. Marwood.”

Anne was relieved and overjoyed that there was hope, however slim.

Anthony got up to leave, and Dorothy and Bianca followed

Anne walked behind them and took out her phone to call Sarah.

Sarah answered right away and said, “Anne, how was it? Can they cure him?”

“Only three of the experts stayed and said that they can try, but there’s no guarantee,” Anne said truthfully.

Feeling as though a rock had been moved from her chest, Sarah said, “The doctors would never make promises even for simple surgeries. That means that your dad is definitely waking up!”

Anne did not dare to agree considering how severe her father’s brain injury was. However, she could not deny her mother hope as well and said, “Let’s wait for him to wake up. However long it takes.”

“Yeah. He wronged me before and hasn’t even made it up to us. He can’t just leave us behind. I won’t let him off that easily!” Tears filled Sarah’s eyes. “When he wakes up, I am going to ask him to divorce Dorothy. That horrible woman!”

Anne, too, wanted her father to get a divorce, even if it was not for her and her mother’s sake. She could tell that Nigel did not love Dorothy and had only stayed in the marriage for Bianca’s sake.

Children would always be their parents‘ top priority. Reminded of her triplets, her chest tightened as she held back her tears.

After the call, she headed to the ward and was determined to enter even if Dorothy and Bianca tried to stop her.

If Anthony was still there, those two would never show their true self.

Just as she was about to arrive at Nigel’s room, she noticed that all three of them were standing outside the door.

An unfamiliar man about Nigel’s age was speaking to them; the man was dressed in a suit and appeared to be a professional of some sort.

When Anne appeared, the man turned around and smiled at her. “Hello, Ms. Vallois.”

“You know me?” She asked in surprise.

“I’m the lawyer hired by Mr. Faye. My name is Robert Stahl.”

“Are you here to see my dad?

“Yes. I’m here to check on him. I didn’t expect to learn that he has been in a car accident. What a shame.” Robert had been working alongside Nigel for years, not only were they partners, but they were close friends as well

“My Dad

Tears threatened to fall from her eyes and Anne reeled her emotions in. “He’s not doing too well. The doctor declared that he’s in a vegetative state, but I believe that he will survive this

“Of course Mr. Faye has never been one to admit defeat Robert said as he studied Anne’s face. “Is your mother not around? Here’s the thing. I’m actually here to read Mr Faye’s will.”

Stunned, she repeated, “Will?”

Dorothy was shaken to the core. “Nigel has written a will? Why…why don’t I know about this?”

“Is this a joke? My Dad wouldn’t possibly write a will without telling his family. When was this? Bianca questioned sharply.

“Three days before his accident,” Robert said.

Chapter 693

“Even if you need to read the will, we don’t need outsiders here. Mr. Stahl, Nigel has nothing to do with Sarah. Sleeping with him a few times doesn’t count. If she insists on getting paid, we can pay her a thousand for each time she slept with him.”

The insult was distasteful and Robert felt extremely awkward to be put on the spot.

Bianca felt pleased to see the suppressed anger on Anne’s face and said, “Mom, we all know about it, so why bother saying it out loud? It’s so embarrassing.”

She was clearly implying that it was embarrassing for Anne and was being sarcastic about it.

“That’s the thing, though. Both Sarah and Anne are mentioned in the will,” Robert said.

“What?” Dorothy lost her senses. “Sarah, too?”

“Yes.”

Both Dorothy and Bianca glared daggers at Anne, who was surprised as well.

It made sense that she was to inherit a portion of her father’s property because she was his daughter, but her mother was not legally bound to Nigel in any way.

Bianca kept Dorothy down and said, “Dad is a responsible man. He feels guilty for bumping her and going back to Mom, so it’s normal that he wants to compensate her.”

Bianca could not care less about the small profits so she could simply think of it as paying off a few beggars.

Understanding what her daughter meant, Dorothy held her composure.

In the room next door, Anne waited by the door alone for her mother to arrive.

Her Mom hurried over and asked, “What happened? Why did you ask me here? Your dad is fine, right? Why are they reading his will all of a sudden? What’s going on?”

“Dad is fine. Let’s hear what the lawyer has to say. The lawyer said that you are one of the beneficiaries.”

After entering the room, Anne and Sarah sat down.

Robert cleared his throat, “Let us begin. According to Mr. Faye’s will, all real estates under his name are to be inherited by Sarah Vallois, while Anne Vallois will inherit his company and all funds tied to it. The mansion he lived in and all savings in his bank account will go to Bianca Faye.”

Dorothy, Blanca, Anne and Sarah were all stunned, even Anthony was taken by surprise.

Dorothy jumped on her feet and said, “How can that be what’s written on his will? Did you read it wrong? You have to be mistaken. I’m his wife and Bianca is his favorite daughter!

Who are these two to him?”

Robert showed her the paperwork and said, “Everything Mr. Faye said is here. You can read them yourselves if you don’t trust me.”

Before Dorothy could reach for it, Bianca snatched it over and read through the words, her expression darkening as she read.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she was stunned.

Anne and Sarah looked at one another in shock.

Just as Dorothy had mentioned, it was obvious to anyone who would be inheriting his wealth and Anne could hardly compare to Bianca when she was merely an illegitimate child. However, not only had Nigel leave Anne and Sarah with most of what he had, he left Dorothy out of his will altogether.

Chapter 694

“Why would Dad write such a will? He left them with his most valuable, and what did he leave me and my mom? I don’t care about money, but I won accept his either!” Bianca threw the paper onto the ground. “Me and my mom are supposed to be the beneficiaries.”

“I’m sorry, but this is what Mr. Faye intended,” Robert said, before turning to Dorothy. “Mrs. Faye, I believe that you’ve signed a prenup when you married Mr. Faye stating that you have no right to his money upon his death.”

“What?” Bianca gaped at Dorothy.

Dorothy lowered her gaze gloomily. “Yes! But what about Bianca? Why isn’t Bianca the first beneficiary? The money in his bank isn’t even one third of what his funds are worth. Does he take us for beggars? Mr. Shahl, something is wrong!”

“I was shocked as well and asked Mr. Faye if he was sure, but he insisted.”

Anne had remained quiet the entire time, but decided to speak up, “I think that something is wrong as well.”

Dorothy shot her an enraged look. “Is that so? What exactly did you do to Nigel to get him to write up a will like this?”

“You are the one who should reflect upon what you’ve done to drive him to taking such an action,” Sarah said sarcastically, “I’m surprised that you would accept signing a prenup. It’s no wonder that you refuse to divorce him no matter what!”

“Why you-”

Anne interrupted Dorothy mercilessly. “I said something is wrong, but not the way you think… Why did Dad get into a car accident shortly after he drew up his will? Isn’t it too much of a coincidence? Did he sense that something was going to happen and decided to draw the will ahead of time? Did you look into the person who caused the accident? Was anything wrong with Dad’s car?”

In order to cover her guilt, Doroth roared, “You are getting out of line! You can’t possibly be thinking that we killed him!”

“I don’t mean to say that.” Anne did not suspect Dorothy for that, but was still skeptical.

“I’ve looked into the truck driver. The accident was caused because he was exhausted. I checked Mr. Faye’s car as well. There’s no issue with it,” Anthony said.

Anne lowered her gaze with a frown, wondering if she had overthought. However, could there be such a coincidence? Her father was young and healthy, so it did not make sense for him to write his will.

“Mr. Shahl, how was my Dad mentally when he wrote the will? Did he look odd to you in those days?” Anne asked.

Robert thought back to it. “He was indeed in a terrible mood, but I didn’t pay much mind to it since he had his ups and downs before as well.”

“Why else would he be down? He was trying whatever he could to divorce me so that he could be with Sarah!”

“Why would he divorce you out of the blue?” Anne questioned sharply.

“You are asking me?” Amused, Dorothy pointed at Sarah angrily. “You should ask her! Ask her what spell she put Nigel under!”

“My mom didn’t contact Dad at all recently,” Anne said confidently.

“How would you know? Do you keep your eyes on her twenty–four seven? You can’t believe every word she says! You two plotted together to coax him into writing this will. This is a crime!” Dorothy said hysterically.

Anne scowled, knowing that she could not possibly reason with someone like that.

“If you don’t believe us, you can go ahead and look into it,” Sarah said.

“How? I’m sure you’ve already burnt all evidence!” Dorothy sneered.

Bianca suppressed her anger and turned to Anthony with a sorrowful expression. “I believe that my dad was coaxed into this. He got into a car accident three days after that, and it looks more like a murder than an accident. Usually, the people who benefit most are the most suspicious! Anthony, you have to help me!”

Chapter 695

Sarah was provoked. “We were overseas. What exactly can we do? Don’t just make false accusations!”

“Tell me why my dad would write a will like this, then? I’m his real daughter who he had raised, the same daughter he remarried my mom for, yet he left you two everything. Does that even make sense?” Bianca questioned.

Indeed, it did not seem logical.

Anne’s eyes darted back and forth between Dorothy and Bianca. “I think that you two did something horrible and enraged Dad into making such a decision.”

Dorothy tried her best to conceal the guilt she felt deep down. She knew that Nigel had made such a decision because he found out that Bianca was not his daughter by blood, but that was simply far too cruel of him. As his wife, she had worked hard for their family and was left with nothing.

‘I should have accepted his proposal to divorce when he offered to give me everything instead!‘ She thought. ‘Now I get nothing!‘

“What exactly can we do to force him into such a reckless decision? I can’t think of one thing.” Bianca’s expression darkened. “All I know is that it makes far more sense if you have coaxed him into this! You weren’t in the country, so how did you do it? Did you hire something? Are you going to admit to it yourselves, or should I call the police?”

“That’s right. Anne, you claim to love your kids, right? So why did you run off out of the blue?” Dorothy added. “You two probably had everything planned before leaving, didn’t you?

Anne and Sarah’s expression darkened. They had yet to recover from the shock from Nigel’s will, and now they were accused of plotting.

Robert had not imagined witnessing such a conflict as he had simply come to read Nigel’s will. After all, if Nigel remained unconscious, someone would have to take over the operation of the company and based on what was stated in the will, the company was to be inherited by Anne.

Robert cleared his throat and said, “Here’s the thing. When Mr. Faye wrote his will, he already stressed that the content of his will is absolute if there’s any conflict.”

Dorothy and Bianca breathed heavily with a dark expression on their faces, unable to accept the fact that what had belonged to them was now taken away by outsiders.

Bianca turned around, the vicious expression on her face transforming in pain and tears when she walked toward Anthony. “Anthony, how would others view me if we execute the will? We can’t allow that. Anthony, I’m gonna die from depression if we do,”

Anne glared at Bianca as she put on a show, knowing that Bianca intended to get Anthony involved using his power by claiming that her life was on the line, Anne was certain that Anthony would do anything for Bianca at the mention of ‘death‘ as long as it pleased her.

“Did you do it?” Anthony turned to look at Anne.

She flinched with realization of what he was referring to and said, “I didn’t do anything. You can look into it if you don’t believe me. Ever since I apologized to Bianca in the hospital the last time, I was mad at Dad and we haven’t spoken to one another since then. I kept my phone closed at all time when I was overseas and I can’t regret it more…”

Bianca stared at Anne with tears in her eyes. “If you really don’t want the money, you should return it all to me and my mom, or it simply proves that you have always been plotting for this to happen.”

Bianca hinted at Anne’s greed and reminded her that she should give up on anything that was given to her if she had any shred of honor left within her.

“What a joke. Why should we give anything to you? This is Nigel’s doing!” Worried that Anne would say something recklessly, Sarah interrupted.

“It’s not his doing. You two must have lied to him or something,” Bianca said.

“Is your dad a toddler? It’s that easy to coax him into giving someone everything he owns?”

Sarah retorted.
