Ch. 591..595: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 591-595
Chapter 591
She froze, before asking, "did you see the kids?"
Tommy simply raised his glass.
Desperately to know what had happened, she grabbed her glass and took a sip.
"How unsettling it is for you to drink the wine that's offered to you at a strange man's place..."
She scowled. "Are you going to talk or not?"
"I saw them. They were eating with Anthony. A heart-warming scene, truly." Tommy sipped on his wine, before
setting the glass down. "Don't worry. They are his kids. He's going to treat them well. If I'm being honest, they are
better off than relying on you, who can barely make ends meet."
"I know..." Anne did not need him to remind her of that.
"Did you talk at noon?"
"How do you know?"
"Anyone could find out," he said calmly, "judging from the look on your face, it didn't go well?"
Anne stabbed at the meat on her plate with her fork, thinking back to what a disaster lunch had been.
"Can you talk about it?"
"I wanted to fight for the custody of at least Chloe, and... leave the boys with Anthony. He didn't agree." She supported her head with her arm. "He's always been that merciless..."
Even making the choice of giving up her sons was extremely hard, but still, she needed to make the decision, or she would lose all of them.
"Take a step back, then. Don't fight for custody at all. Pay for alimony and drop by to see the kids twice a week," he said.
"What...?" Anne refused to accept that.
"Be realistic. You can't win against Anthony."
"Anthony won't want my money!" Anthony was far too wealthy to be interested in any amount she could afford to pay.
"This is like a business deal. You need to present how eager you are and proceed by letting the other person know that they are getting something out of it. You went head first and asked for a daughter. Did you really think that he would be happy about that?"
Anne scowled and wondered if that was the reason why Anthony had been so cruel at noon. She did not know why he acted that way, as she thought that all men cared only for their sons. Anthony's empire needed an heir, so she had thought that he needed the boys for it and would have no need for her daughter.
On top of that, her daughter looked exactly like her and Anne was worried that Anthony might mistreat Chloe simply because of her resemblance to her mother.
"If you think of this as a business deal, you can always revisit and renegotiate until you succeed," Tommy said.
She looked at him with determination. "I won't give up."
She had to at least get her daughter back.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
She froze. "Who’s that? Are you expecting a guest?"
"No. I'll go have a look." Tommy got up and went to the surveillance camera to see who it was and scowled.
'Why is he here?' He thought. 'Probably because I ignored his phone call.'
He turned around and went back to the table, before pulling Anne up to her feet. "Hide."
"Who is it? Your girlfriend?"
He shot her a look and opened a door, before shoving her inside. "I don’t have a girlfriend."
He closed the door and Anne stood before the closed door, thinking to herself, 'Why would he act that way if it's
not his girlfriend, then?'
Chapter 592
She soon realized that she was in a bedroom and judging from the interior design, it belonged to Tommy.
Though she was reluctant to remain in Tommy’s room, she had no way of getting out.
She quietly opened a small gap to the door and saw Damian walking into the living room.
"Why didn't you answer my call?" Damian questioned.
"I missed it."
Damian decided to ignore the truth to that explanation since he had something more important to discuss. "Do you
know that the Archduke Group is all talking about Anthony's kids? How did he end up with kids? When? Did
Bianca get pregnant? Why don't I know anything about this?"
'So, that's why he is here,' Anne thought.
"I just found out myself. He has triplets, two sons and a daughter. They are around two years old, but Bianca isn’t
their mother. It's Anne Vallois." Tommy sat down on the couch.
"What? What the- Anne Vallois?" Shocked, Damian said, "When did she even sleep with Anthony? She was supposed to be overseas two to three years ago, right? Anthony was hiding her overseas?"
"Maybe by accident. Anthony didn't know about the kids before this."
"What an accident, then. My head is still spinning. I can tell that Anne is definitely a monster or something! She's not to be underestimated!"
Anne's expression darkened and thought, Tm a monster? I'm not to be underestimated? All I did was give birth to three children. That might sound like a lot, but that's beside the point!'
"How's that any of your business?" Tommy questioned impatiently.
"How is it now? It's your business, too. Anthony has always been ambitious and now that he has heirs, his ambition would only increase by tenfold!"
Damian looked into the future and said, "He will soon take over the entire Marwood Group!"
Tommy did not react at all as though he was not affected by it.
'Tommy, you need to fight Anthony!" Damian reminded.
"I have to do it because you can't?" He asked coldly.
"I... Why else did I have you? So that I have someone to rely on! In wealthy families, sons are the core of one's power," Damian said confidently. "Look at Anthony. He has children and two of them are sons. He's probably overjoyed!"
Anne felt like Damian had the wrong idea, as Anthony was so furious that he could have strangled her to death when he found out about the children.
'You're not young anymore, Tommy. It's time for you to get married!"
Tommy glared at his father and asked, "Why is it that you demand to have everything Anthony has? If you want kids, get a woman on your own!'
"What are you talking about? So you won't ever get married?"
"I don't know. I have no plans at the moment." Tommy crossed his legs and showed no interest.
Damian was at the brink of getting a heart attack from his son's attitude, when he noticed two sets of utensils and
two glasses of wine on the dining table. Feeling suspicious, he asked, "Who were you eating with?"
'A friend."
"Woman?”
"Whoever said that two guys can't drink wine together?" Tommy said naturally.
"Where is he, then?"
"Left before you got here.”
Damian did not believe him and turned to look at the closed doors to the rooms, wondering if someone was hiding
inside.
Anne leaned against the door and held her breath, desperately wishing that
Damian would not check the room as she did not want any misunderstanding.
Luckily, Damian simply glanced over before turning back to Tommy.Chapter 593
"Alright. I can't argue with you. I'll leave." Damian walked towards the door and left.
Anne walked out of the room when she heard the main door closing.
"Did you hear my dad? He said you're a monster," Tommy teased.
"Yeah, so keep a distance from me. Don't give me any chance to seduce you, too," she said impatiently.
"How far?" Tommy approached her.
Anne watched him warily and backed away at the proximity until her back was against the wall. She tensed and
held out her arms to stop him, but he proceeded to grab her by the wrists.
He bent down and Anne was startled into screaming, "Tommy Marwood, don't you dare!"
He stopped with his face a few centimeters away from hers and asked, ’ How's this for distance?"
He could just kiss her if he moved any closer.
She tilted her face to the side with a scowl. "I'm going home. Let go..." She escaped him and pulled her arms away in frustration. "What's wrong with you?"
"Keeping a distance from you."
She shot him a confused look and said, "Seeing that dinner is almost finished, I'm leaving."
"I'll send you."
"It's fine." She opened the door and walked out.
She slammed the door shut with a loud 'thud' and Tommy rubbed his lips, regretting that he did not kiss her to ease the urge burning within him.
Anne had been in Tommy's apartment before and knew her way. She took the elevator down and walked through the condominium gate.
The car window in the distance rolled down and Damian poked his head out. He stared at the slim figure before him in disbelief and gritted out, ’ Anne Vallois!"
He had suspected someone was inside the room and waited outside, but he had not expected to see Anne.
'She's already given birth to three children for Anthony and she's still not satisfied? She is here to seduce my son! Damn it!' He thought.
Anne caught a taxi and went home, feeling upset with having to spend the money. However, she was more reluctant to let Tommy send her back, as she had a feeling that Tommy's attitude toward her had changed.
It almost felt as though he was trying to get closer and she instinctively rejected the possibility of Tommy developing an interest toward her.
Tommy had Lilian with him, so he probably would not be interested in anyone, so perhaps he simply enjoyed
teasing Anne.
Back to her room in the apartment, Anne sat down on the bed and grabbed her phone to check the time before
heading into the shower.
The screen lit up and she saw a text message.
She widened her eyes and jumped onto her feet when she noticed that it was a message from Anthony.
'Anthony... contacted me?' She thought and her heart raced as she read through the message, which contained
nothing but a restaurant's address.
She instantly realized what he meant and when she checked the time, the message was received two hours ago.
'Are they still there?' She thought and ran outside the apartment, almost stumbling as she hurried down the stairs.
She grabbed onto the handrail and paled in fear.
When she finally was outside the building, she caught a taxi and headed to the address Anthony had sent to her.
Chapter 594
After getting out of the car, she almost ran into others when she hurried toward the restaurant. She ignored the
person she bumped into and the pain on her body as her eyes darted around.
"Ma'am, we are closed," the restaurant manager whom she bumped into said.
'Where are they? This isn't possible. He said here!" She mumbled in disbelief. "Where are the private rooms? Are
there customers in the private rooms? Do you know Anthony Marwood? He's definitely here!"
"With three children?" The manager asked.
She froze, before nodding frantically. "Yeah. Three children! Where are they?"
"Mr. Marwood reserved the whole place and brought them here for barbeque, and then they left," the manager said
with a smile. "It's a surprise that Mr. Marwood would be seen eating barbeque. Maybe he's here because his kids
like it, which is proof of how good our grill is!"
Anne did not care about how good the food was and was instantly in despair.
Why did she have to follow Tommy and return home so late?
She stumbled out of the restaurant, terrified and distraught, before getting into a taxi to head to the Royal Mansion.
Anne tried to guess what Anthony was thinking on her way there, wondering why he had suddenly decided to let her see the children and whether it was because of the gathering they had at noon.
However, Anthony sounded so determined and cruel at the time. If she thought that there was hope, she would have waited at home instead of going outside.
The car arrived before the Royal Mansion, and the lighting of the mansion was brighter than the last time she visited, but her heart still sank at the sight.
When she saw Hayden, she asked, "Where's Anthony?"
"Mr. Marwood is in the study room, but-" Before Hayden could finish, Anne ran towards the study room and stopped right before the door instead of barging in recklessly.
She bit on her lip and felt all strength draining from her legs, not from all the running, but from fear toward Anthony's intimidating presence that was obvious even with the door between them.
She contemplated how she could explain herself, took a few deep breaths to steady herself, before knocking on the door gently.
"Come in," Anthony's voice pierced through the door.
She pursed her lips and pushed the door open.
Anthony was sitting before his desk and handling paperwork of the Archduke Group; his expression darkened when he saw the person walking in.
Anne forced herself to march forward despite the chilling atmosphere.
"I'm sorry. I only saw your message at eight, otherwise I would have been there."
'I thought that you really can't survive without your children. Was that all just an act?” He asked coldly.
"No!" She frantically attempted to explain herself, "I... I was in a bad mood and I was in a bad shape physically, too. I laid down on my bed... and I don't even know when I've fallen asleep or passed out. By the time I woke up, it was almost eight."
She had not lied as she had recently been discharged from the hospital and she knew that it would be more
believable if she mixed the truth with her lie.
Anne knew that she was as pale as a ghost at the moment.
Without a word, Anthony studied her sharply.
"Anthony..." She took a few steps forward until she was right in front of the desk. "It's my fault, but I didn't do it on
purpose. I regret it so much. I would have gone to the restaurant if I didn't pass out. I just didn't... I didn't think you
would message me after how mad I made you..." She mumbled pathetically.
'I would have never asked you to go there if the kids hadn't been so insistent on seeing you," he said
expressionlessly and paused, before continuing, "come here."
She walked to stand by his side.
"On your knees."
She hesitated for a moment, before kneeling and placing both her hands on her lap, with Anthony's thigh at her
eye level.
Certain traumatizing memories were brought up by the sight and she felt chills down her spine.
Chapter 595
Was Antony requesting that she exchanged her pride for the right to see her children?
'It's fine,' she thought, 'I will do anything to see my children.’
She reached a trembling hand toward him and he grabbed it, forcing her to look up and stare into his dark,
brooding eyes.
"Your lips are twitching?” He hummed huskily. "Hum?"
"I'm sorry. I misunderstood..." She blushed.
Anthony did not intend to be intimate with her at all, but his blood boiled at the sight of her flushed cheeks.
However, he did not want to let Anne off easily.
He let go of her arm and said, ’Upstairs."
Anne realized what he meant and beamed at him. ' Thank you!" She got up and ran out of the study room.
Anthony stared at the opened door with a dark expression.
When the bedroom door opened, Anne found the triplets fresh out of shower and playing on the bed with the
maids.
When the triplets saw her, they widened their eyes in disbelief and screamed cheerfully.
"Mama!"
They fumbled to get out of bed and Anne was startled. "Don't jump! Slow down!"
The triplets hurried over and ran into Anne's embrace.
Anne crouched down and threw her arms around their soft bodies and took in their sweet scent; her heart slowly healing from all the misery in the past days.
’Mama is back. Mama is back..." Anne mumbled in content.
Charlie was the first to look up. "Mama, Papa didn't lie to us!"
"Yeah. Papa said that we would see you today!" Chris said in excitement.
"I knew that Mama wouldn't abandon us! Yay!" Charlie jumped to the side and waved his plastic knife around.
Anne felt horribly guilty as she listened to them.
She had offered up the custody of her sons in exchange for her daughter, and she didn't even know how to face her sons in the future.
She patted Chris on the head and said, "Yeah, Mama would never abandon you..."
Even if Anthony held custody of the children, it did not mean that she was giving up on the children. However, shortly after that, Anne realized that she had been overly optimistic.
If she was to fight Anthony over custody of their children, she had absolutely no chance in ending up with any one of the children.
She lowered her head and realized that Chloe was still burying her head into Anne's chest without a word, while grabbing onto her mother's clothes tightly with both her hands.
"Chloe?" Anne lifted her chin and saw that Chloe's cheeks were flushed." What's wrong?"
"I miss you, Mama. Don't go." She pouted and batted her eyes as though she was about to cry.
Anne picked her up and kept another arm around Chris and Charlie with tears welling up her eyes. "I'm not going. I won't go. I'm here now, aren't I?"
Anne stayed with the triplets and laid on the bed to coax them into sleep, all the while chatting with them to find out
how lives had been forthem in the Royal Mansion.
"Your pajamas look great," Anne said.
"Papa bought them!" Chloe said.
’Papa bought all of them!’ Charlie said.
’Are you happy here?" Anne asked.
’We aren’t happy when Mama isn't here!" Chris said.
’That bad woman pushed me!” Chloe complained.
"Her name is Bianca. Papa said she is going to be his wife! We don't like her!" Charlie added.
Anne’s heart sank, knowing that Anthony had told the children such a thing to prepare them for Bianca.
’Mama, can Papa not marry the bad woman?" Chloe asked.
Anne felt helpless, as it was not something that she could decide.
