Ch. 1576..1580: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1576-1580

Chapter 1576

"When are you available?" asked Ivan.

"Let's do it tomorrow morning!"

After he set the appointment, Corentin went to look for Ashlynn.

Anne was around, so he bought two servings.

"Thank you, Uncle."

"You should thank Ash. If I didn't buy it for her, you won't be able to enjoy this either." Corentin smiled.

"Yes. Thank you very much." Anne smiled.

Ashlynn could not help but glare at Corentin. "You said it like there's none for Anne. You're her uncle, aren't you supposed to buy for her? If you didn't buy her any, I won't have a bite of it as well."

Corentin sat down, and said with a smile, "Are both of you on the same side now?”

It was unclear if he was simply making a casual remark, but it sounded as if it had a double meaning to their ears.

In any case, both Anne and Ashlynn did not show any reaction on their faces.

They just took it as a normal conversation.

After Corentin called Ivan to make an appointment with him, Ivan called Anne to tell her about it.

Therefore, It was only natural for Anne to pay close attention to Corentin's behavior at home.

The following day, Corentin went to the place where Ivan had hidden the person.

It was an apartment building behind a rather busy street.

When they opened the door, the man sitting on the couch immediately got up and looked at the people entering with a vigilant gaze. His arms were chained up, which was to prevent him from running away.

Ivan came quite often, so he was not scared of him. It was mainly because there was another person- Corentin.

Because of the additional person, the man kept moving to the side to hide.

He looked timid as if he was afraid to be harmed by others.

"It's fine. He is my friend. He said he wants to come and visit you. He wanted to see if he could get rid of the toxins in your body," said Ivan.

Corentin took a few steps forward. His tall figure made the man feel pressured as if he had ill intentions.

If the man did not have chains on his hands, he certainly would have retreated.

Ivan noticed that the man was unexpectedly very calm when he saw Corentin.

Corentin even deliberately asked, "Are you afraid of me?"

The man glanced at Ivan. It seemed like he did not understand what Corentin was saying.

Corentin asked, "Who made you like that? Can you tell me? Whatever you can remember, no matter how minor, will be helpful to us."

The man panicked. "Many people...many people..."

Corentin asked calmly, "What many people?"

The man squatted down in fear and did his best to hug his shaking head. "I want to go home...l want to go home..."

Ivan said, "After he regained a little bit of his consciousness, he would only utter 'many people' and nothing else. I'm thinking if 'many people' meant that there were many people like him."

Corentin asked, "What did Anthony say?"

"Mr. Marwood has no clue either at this moment. The only hope is to gain more information while giving the infected person his treatment."

He has already met the person, and he did not get any other information as well, so Corentin and Ivan left the apartment.

Ivan saw Corentin left in his car.

On the night after Corentin met the infected person, a fire started without any reason at the apartment building behind the streets.

The apartment where the infected person was staying was right in the heart of the fire.

When Ivan rushed over, the infected person was already burnt to a crisp.

Ivan's expression looked very terrible as he looked at the man whose body was as black as coal.

Could it be that his judgment was wrong? Would Corentin be so bold to do it so openly?

Because once something has happened, Corentin would be the most suspicious!

Anne ran out of the room. She asked the maid and was told that Corentin was at the study.

She then ran toward the study and rushed in without even having the time to knock. "Did you kill the infected person?"

"No." Corentin denied.

"But not long after you left, the apartment building where the infected person was hiding was burnt and he died. Uncle, this can't be a coincidence, can it?" Anne hid her fury within herself.

The infected person was not the only one who died. There were other innocent people as well!

Chapter 1577

How could he have so little regard for human life?!

Corentin's expression darkened. "Do you think I would be so foolish to let everyone know this has something to do with me?”

Anne was slightly stunned. "Do you mean you have no clue about it at all?’

"Anne, it’s not good if you keep suspecting me.”

’I wasn't suspecting you before this. You were the one who admitted it yourself.’

Corentin lightly tapped the table with the pen in his hand. "Why don't I admit it now, then?"

Anne was at a loss for words. Could this truly have nothing to do with Corentin?

Could it be...

’Anne." Ashlynn, who was behind Anne, came over and stood up for Corentin. "It cant be Corentin's doing."

If Salvatore truly wanted to have something done, the first thing he would have done was to completely get rid of any connections of him to the incident.

How could he have done something so obvious to everyone?

Anne felt that she was too impulsive as well. "I was too anxious. I'm sorry, Uncle. I'll inform you when I have any information from that end.'

Upon saying that, she glanced at Ashlynn apologetically, then she left.

Corentin pulled Ashlynn into his arms. "Why are you awake? Did you not have a good sleep? It's not the baby kicking you, is it?"

Ashlynn chuckled. "The baby is still so small and the little hands and feet are not even developed yet!'

Corentin carried her in his arms and sat down on the desk chair. 'Let your husband cradle you as you sleep."

Ashlynn did not resist and nestled herself in his arms. After giving it a thought, she asked, "Could it be Tommy who did it?"

'There's no one else other than him. But I'm truly very happy that you spoke up for me just now. I felt even more overjoyed than knowing you're pregnant,’ said Corentin, then he kissed her soft lips with great force.

He only let her go when she was panting hard because of the kiss.

Ashlynn grabbed his jacket weakly. She was still panting as she said, "You... With your power, could you truly not find any clues about Tommy?"

Corentin analyzed, "As big as Athetin is, there are still places where I can't reach. Besides, Tommy won't personally make an appearance. The people who appeared would only be those mysterious assassins of his. Therefore, don't even visit your parents these days. I'm worried."

'Huh?'

"Just endure it a little for the sake of the child. Alright?" Corentin kissed her forehead.

Ashlynn did not say anything. Perhaps...it was because Corentin was also holding himself back! He clearly had a huge reaction after kissing her, but he still did not go any further after the kiss.

Yes, she should endure it for the sake of the child!

However, after a while, Ashlynn could not help but ask, "Are you going to keep doing this?"

Corentin chuckled. “I'm already doing my best to divert my attention." He could not help but kiss her again as he said that.

Ashlynn felt that Corentin's kiss was a little impatient. Then, he picked her up, pinned her down on the table with her lying on her stomach, and said with a hoarse voice, "Keep your legs apart."

"Didn't you say you won't touch me?" Ashlynn could not see what was happening behind her, so she was a little nervous.

"Don't be afraid. I won't do it." Corentin kissed her beautiful shoulders that were exposed by her pajamas. He was nibbling and reluctant to stop. "I can never be a saint when facing the woman I love."

The phone that was next to him started vibrating.

Corentin was so immersed at the moment that he could not care about it and just ignored it.

After that, Corentin hugged Ashlynn in his arms and helped her straighten her pajamas.

Ashlynn's face was flushed, and her eyes were glaring at him. She was complaining silently.

In Corentin's eyes, she was simply acting coquettish.

'I've only relieved the pressing need. Don't seduce me."

'Since when have I seduced you?"

"Just take it that I'm too terrible at restraining myself." Corentin carried her in his arms. "Let's return to the room."

'Your phone rang just now."

'Ignore it."

After they returned to the room, Corentin kept Ashlynn accompanied and went to bed with her.

In the later part of the night, Corentin woke up from a dream, got out of bed, left the room, and headed straight to the study.

Chapter 1578

He did glance at the phone when the call came in, and the number was not shown.

It was truly unusual for him to receive such a call after the infected person was burnt to death.

Therefore, Corentin returned to the study once again.

He stood next to the table and held the phone in his hand.

There was no way he could call back a number that was not shown.

A minute later, the phone rang again.

It was as if Corentin had figured he would call him again. Corentin answered the call but did not say anything and just waited for the person on the other end to say something.

"Hello, Mr. Lloyd. Since you're answering the phone at this hour, surely you won't be disturbed by others."

"Are you not even going to tell me your name before you start the conversion?"

"You should've figured out who I am. Isn't that right? There's no need to beat around the bush when talking to a smart person like you."

Corentin indeed already knew it was Tommy before he answered the call.

'You're the one who started the fire." Corentin's tone was firm.

"I'm holding out an olive branch to you. Will you accept it?" Tommy asked over the phone.

"I refuse."

"It's not good to refuse when you've already gotten your hands on my virus, right?" Tommy did not show his displeasure after being rejected. Instead, he was laughing softly.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand?" Corentin remained calm.

"Do you understand what a chemical plant is then?"

Corentin squinted his amber-colored eyes dangerously. "You investigated me?"

"Sorry about that. There's an infected person in Athetin, so I had to keep an eye out for it. Also, the person who had the island surrounded and launched an attack earlier was you, wasn't it? I figured what's going on once I put two and two together."

"Yet you still want to work with me?"

"You can pin all those things you've done on me. I only want Anne. Is it a good deal?" Tommy stated his purpose.

"You're truly obsessed with her."

'You won't have any losses."

"I'll think about it."

"Is there a need for that? Don't waste everybody's time."

Corentin, indeed, had no other options.

It was originally something he was doing in secret, but Tommy has completely seen through it all.

It would be a huge disadvantage to him once this matter was exposed, especially since Ashlynn was pregnant at that moment. He absolutely could not let her, who was already feeling sensitive, know

anything about it at all.

Corentin said, "Pleasure working with you, but I have a request. I want to know the cure."

"You will receive it."

Corentin came out of the study and went upstairs.

Anne was hiding in the corner, and she watched Corentin return to the room.

Why did he go to the study at that hour?

She quietly went downstairs and headed to the study.

She opened the door to the study and went in quickly. She wanted to find some clues, but she found nothing.

There was certainly something wrong with Corentin!

When Anne woke up in the morning, Anthony's call came in. "Did you sleep well?"

'Quite well," Anne told him about her keeping an eye on Corentin last night.

In any case, she did not find anything at all.

"Someone returned to the scene of the crime last night. Ivan speculates it's someone from the Tianya Group. That person has the intent to kill."

"Is he alright?" asked Anne.

"Don't worry about other men."

Anne was speechless. She decided that since he was being absurd, that meant Ivan should be fine. "They only fought with each other? Did he not notice anything else?"

'He seemed to be searching for something at the scene of the crime. No valuable clues were found."

"At least that proves the fire was Tommy's doing and has nothing to do with Corentin," Anne concluded. "Do you still think it has something to do with Corentin?"

"Corentin is not a person that could be trusted."

Before Corentin received the data to make the virus from Tommy, he received a call from Beth instead. "Can you explain to me what happened to the chemical plant?"

"I refuse."

Chapter 1579

Corentin lifted his face a little, and a sullen expression flashed across his face.

He figured that it was Tommy’s doing.

They had already agreed to work together, but he actually still pulled such a trick on him.

’Mrs. Hilton, this is a misunderstanding."

’Misunderstanding? I’m at the chemical plant now. Get over here!"

After he hung up the call. Corentin was so angry that he kicked the coffee table next to him.

After that, he left the company without anybody noticing and went to the chemical plant.

Throughout the entire journey, he kept thinking about how he should resolve the problem of him being exposed.

When he got to the chemical plant, he saw that the car parked outside was not Beth's. Instead, it was Marshall's car.

He went inside, and as expected, he saw Marshall and his wife.

They looked displeased and very disappointed when they were looking at him.

Corentin hated such facial expressions the most. It was as if he was a piece of worthless garbage.

He grew up seeing such expressions on his adoptive parents ' faces since his childhood.

Corentin did not let his emotions show. He simply went up to them. "Mr. and Mrs. Hilton."

"Are...all those your work?" Marshall was so angry as he pointed in the direction where the production floor had been transformed into 'wards', and he simply could not believe what he saw. "You're privately conducting such experiments that are harmful to the human body. What do you take the lives of these people for?"

'They’re doing this willingly. I’ve given them money."

'Even so, such an act is also cruel!" Beth could not help but burst out in anger. "What exactly are you thinking when you do such a thing? Does Elder Lloyd know?"

’He doesn't know."

'You've simply gone mad!" Beth could not suppress her anger no matter what. 'Quickly destroy all of these! Marshall and I will just pretend that we don’t know about this!"

If it was not for the sake of their daughter, Ashlynn, who was pregnant, they truly wanted very badly to cut ties with such a son-in-law.

At that moment, however...

’I’m afraid I can’t," said Corentin.

’You can’t? You still wish to continue? Would you be doing right by Ash if you were to do so? If she were to find out, how disappointed would she be in you?" Beth scolded him angrily. "The first thing she’ll do is divorce you!’

Marshall looked at him harshly. It was as if he had never understood his own son-in-law. ’Corentin, in the eyes of the others, you've always been a genius in the field of business. You're capable, and you have your means. How could you do such a thing? As a person, you have to have a limit.’

’When the cure is developed, the profits will be unimaginable.’ Corentin did not want his hard work to go to waste.

Besides, how would he know his good intentions?

He was not the true Corentin. He was Salvatore.

His true image was a monster, to begin with.

’What are you going to do when Ash finds out?" Beth was truly furious.

’I hope both of you could hide this from her for me,’ said Corentin.

Another woman walked in. Her face was filled with murderous intent. "How? Only the dead will make you feel the most secure."

’Who are you?’ Beth was looking at the strange woman.

Corentin did not say anything, but he had figured out who she was-Tomm/s assassin.

They truly were everywhere.

Besides, he was already exposed, so it was unsurprising for her to appear.

’Corentin, what the hell are you doing?’ Marshall roared angrily.

’Are you not going to get rid of them?" said the woman again.

She was giving Corention a choice.

Initially, Marshall and Beth were not afraid. After all, Corentin was their son-in-law. They were his family.

However, when they saw Corentin remaining silent and not saying a word at all, they instantly felt a chill down their spines.

'Could it be that you want to kill both of us?" Beth's expression turned cold.

’Corentin, stop before it's too late!" Marshall said with great pain.

’It's too late." Corentin's gaze looked empty as he turned around and showed his back to them.

He had made his intentions crystal clear. He was going to let the assassin deal with Marshall and Beth however she pleased.

Chapter 1580

Marshall and Beth could not believe it as they looked at the heartless Corentin.

’Corentin, are you even a human? Marshall and I are your wife's parents!" Beth was furious.

However, Corentin did not respond at all.

"Do you really care about Ash if you're doing this? If she learned that her parents were killed by you, how much pain would she feel and how deeply would she hate you?" Beth felt both furious and in pain.

Marshall no longer wanted to speak to Corentin anymore because he noticed the woman was walking toward them with murderous intent in her eyes.

He hurriedly held Beth's hand. "Let's go!"

Both of them ran out of the chemical plant. The assassin simply walked out of there in an unhurried manner. Not long after, two miserable screams could be heard coming from outside.

Corentin walked out and saw the couple, who was still breathing, lying in a puddle of blood.

The assassin was standing next to them. Blood was still dripping from the knife in her hand. It was a terrifying sight.

’Beth..." Marshal struggled to hold Beth's hand.

Beth's eyes were open weakly, and her fingers moved eagerly. She wanted to ask Marshall if he had ever loved her in this life. In the end, she opened her mouth, threw up blood, and took her last breath.

Marshall saw Corentin walking over, so he pleaded with him, "Save... Save her. I'm begging you. She's Ashlynn's mother..."

"She's already dead," Corentin told him. It was a fact.

Marshall was dazed. He turned his eyes with difficulty to look at Beth, whose eyes were shut and was lying motionless. Pain and despair enveloped him, and tears streamed down his face.

He used the last strength he had in him to grab Beth's hand, and he did not move anymore, much less struggle.

He was simply waiting for death's arrival.

"I'm doing this for Ash. Both of you should understand me. Don't worry. I love Ash. I would never leave her in this life." Corentin signaled the assassin with his eyes, and then he turned around and got into the car.

The assassin gave Marshall the final blow. After both of them had died, she moved them to the mountains to bury them.

Corentin was sitting in the driver's seat and was looking straight ahead with a sullen gaze.

When the assassin walked over after taking care of everything, Corentin rolled down the car window. "Let me contact Tommy."

The assassin handed him an old-fashioned phone.

There was only one number in there.

Corentin dialed the number, and Tommy answered the call. "What else do you want to prove?"

"Just proving that you truly are the person that I want to work with. You're vicious enough."

Corentin looked at the assassin and waved at her.

The assassin thought that he wanted to tell her something, so she leaned her head closer to him.

Darkness flashed across Corentin's eyes. He grabbed the assassin's neck with one hand and stabbed the pen in his other hand into her artery. He then pulled the pen out, and blood was spraying forcefully out of her.

Her blood was spraying all over the car.

The assassin was twitching all over. She still wanted to run away, but Corentin's arm kept grabbing her neck.

The death rattle could be heard coming out of her throat.

The call was still ongoing, so Tommy could hear clearly everything that was happening on this end.

After the assassin took her last breath, Corentin released his strong arm. He then continued talking to the person on the phone as if nothing had happened. "Proof seeking is not just done by one party alone."

Tommy was silent for quite a while, which showed that he was very angry.

After all, he did not have that many assassins that he could deploy anymore.

Having one killed by Corentin meant that he was one less route he could take.

"If you want to work with me, then f*cking do it properly. If I find out you're not obeying the rules again, you'll be the next person to die," said Corentin, then he immediately hung up the call.

He stayed in the car for about ten minutes before he called Anne. "Anne, something has happened."
