Ch. 1266..1270: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1266-1270
Chapter 1266
Jeremy was caught off guard by her question, he tripped over the steps, and his handsome face almost kissed the ground.
He turned around, amused, and said, “You made me jump!”
Ashlynn had no other choice but to follow him to the guest room.
The servant helped her to apply the medication to her wounds on the back.
Jeremy was striding back and forth on the corridor, frustrated. Why did Ashlynn have a blood–red crescent–shaped mark on her back?
He remembered that his sister also had a blood–red crescent mark on her back, and Beth told him about it.
She had always said as long as there was a blood–red crescent birthmark on the back, that would be his blood sister.
Now, Ashlynn had it… Could it be a coincidence?
However, this kind of birthmark was rare.
This time, Beth and her husband were all still outside.
Jeremy could not wait any longer.
He went out hastily, straight to the Hilton family’s office.
He went straight into Beth’s office door.
Beth was in a meeting and was not pleased to see Jeremy barraging in. “Where are your manners… Ah!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Jeremy had already pulled her hair. She frowned in pain.
“Jeremy, what are you doing!”
Jeremy looked at the four strands of hair in his palm, then said guiltily, “Mom, I’m sorry, I pulled too much more than what I need. Please continue. I’m out of here.” Then, he snuck out again.
Beth was speechless toward her son’s behavior. He was talented, but he was always so playful.
She did not take that seriously and carried on with her meeting.
It was late, and Ashlynn was already in bed, trying to sleep.
She felt much better after being applied with the mediation, and the swells were already subsided.
She placed her phone on the nightstand, and it was quiet.
No matter how difficult it was for her, she never called Corentin.
She knew that Corentin was waiting for her to call him, to beg him for mercy.
However, she knew it even better that pleading with him would only feed his perverted mentality, and he would never bring her out of here…
Just when she was almost falling asleep, her room was banged open.
Meredith walked into the room, straight to Ashlynn’s bed.
Aunt Cher was behind her, looking at her so menacingly as though she had done something disastrous.
Meredith said, condescending, “Get the f*ck out of here! You filthy servant does not deserve to sleep in a guest’s room!”
Ashlynn knew that this would happen. She got up and put on her shoes.
Meredith told Aunt Cher, “Throw all the sheets out! They stink now!”
Aunt Cher immediately instructed other servants and said, “Quick, throw them into the trash, don’t pollute Ms. Hilton’s esophagus!”
Jeremy walked in, and he pulled Ashlynn, who was about to leave. “I dare you to throw them away!”
Meredith was annoyed. “Jeremy, I heard that you allowed her to sleep in the guest room. Are you crazy? She came from the slums. How could she sleep in the guest room?”
“She is still a human.” Jeremy was not budged.
Ashlynn could not help but take one more look at Jeremy, no one that said something like that to her before.
Chapter 1267
“Also, do you not have your own home? Why are you here every day?” Jeremy implied his intention to kick her out.
Meredith’s face turned green. “Jeremy, who is your family? I need to tell Auntie and get her to discipline you!”
“Then, please go ahead. I will say this now, and I will not repeat myself. Whoever lays a finger on Ashlynn is openly challenging me!” Jeremy had always not been seeing eye to eye with Meredith and was, of course, not going to be easy on her this time.
“Are you seriously treating me this way just because of a woman that came from the slum?” Meredith asked once again.
Ashlynn, who was standing by the side, really wanted to express that she wanted to go back to the servants‘ quarters, but she heard Jeremy rebutting, “Do you think I am joking?”
Right at this moment, Beth came back. She was even carrying a limited edition
woman’s bag in her hand. However, she was welcomed with such a scene as soon as she got home. Meredith looked as though her savior had arrived. She went forward and cried, “Auntie, look at Jeremy. He allowed Ashlynn to sleep in the guest room. We did not invite her here to be a guest!”
Aunt Cher added on, “Ashlynn even broke the plates this morning. Not only was she not punished, but now she gets to stay in the guest room. I wonder how much she drugged Young Master.”
Jeremy’s sharp gaze was directed right at Aunt Cher.
Aunt Cher squirmed backward.
Beth glared at her son, then said sternly, “Ashlynn, please go out.”
“No!” Jeremy pulled Ashlynn again.
This time, even Ashlynn thought he was a little too much.
Why was he so rebellious! This would make things very difficult for her!
“Are you done?” Beth was utterly displeased.
“Mom, I have something to tell you.” Jeremy meant to have a conversation with her in private.
“What do you want to say that I am not allowed to listen to?” Meredith questioned.
“Why is everything relevant to you?” Jeremy was impatient.
“You…” Meredith was exasperated.
Beth consoled her, “Fine, don’t get on your nerves. Let me see what he has to say. I
have not given you a lesson yet for pulling my hair today!” Then, Beth left.
Ashlynn watched as Jeremy and Beth left, stunned by what she said.
Why did Jeremy pull his mother’s hair?
Meredith saw them leaving too and did not wish to stay in the space that was shared with Ashlynn.
She fanned her nose as though trying to fan away some nonexistent stench and then left.
Only Ashlynn was left in the room. She stood there and was uncertain of what to do.
Should she leave? Or not?
Beth placed her bag down in the room, and sat down on the couch, then massaged her neck. “Why are you siding with Ashlynn? Now I question your motive.”
“What motive?” Jeremy asked.
“At your sister’s wedding, you asked what if the girl you liked is from the slum? If I did not guess it wrong, this girl that you were referring to is Ashlynn, right? Jeremy, I don’t care how playful you are out there with any celebrities or models, but if you decided to bring home someone like Ashlynn, I would never forgive you!”
Jeremy did not argue with her on this. He sat next to her and looked at her with all
seriousness.
Beth had never seen her son with such a serious face.
Her heart sank a little. What if her son really was heavily seduced by Ashlynn?
“Mom, do you remember that you told me my sister had a blood–red crescent
birthmark on her back?”
Beth was confused. “Why are you asking me about this? Don’t you divert the
conversation.”
“I found out accidentally that Ashlynn had a birthmark that looked like that on her
back, next to her shoulder blade!” Jeremy said.
Beth was stunned. She looked at him blankly. “What did you… What did you say? No… No! Impossible!”
Her daughter was already missing for over twenty years, and she had already given up on the search.
Now he was telling her that Ashlynn had a blood–red crescent birthmark on her back, and she even was her biggest nemesis?
“If you don’t believe me, you could go see it for yourself later tonight after Ashlynn is asleep,” Jeremy said.
Chapter 1268
Beth’s face was frozen, acting out of the ordinary.
Marshall came back to see his wife’s terrible expression and asked her caringly,” What happened? Are you unwell? Do you need me to get the physician over?”
Beth shook her head. “Nothing big. I just need some rest.”
“Have a day off tomorrow, don’t stretch it.”
Beth had something on her chest that she could not tell him about.
She thought that it must not be the case.
If that was not the case, then she did not have the need to tell him about it.
The crescent birthmark. There could be not one… but two… or three… or even many people that have it.
It must be a coincidence.
In the middle of the night, Beth, who could not sleep, crept out of her room, to the guest room.
She entered.
She turned the night light up slightly and saw Ashlynn, who was soundly asleep. Beth walked closer. She looked at the peaceful face and asked herself repeatedly, would this be the daughter that she had lost for over twenty years?
She reached her hand out and pulled Ashlynn’s collar on the back downward.
She first saw the red marks from the whipping and then saw the shoulder blade.
A tiny little red crescent appeared. Beth immediately covered her mouth. She was so afraid that she would let out a gasp.
Her body went soft, and she sat on the ground.
The person in bed was still fast asleep, completely unaware of what was happening in the room.
Beth hastily left the room and crashed on the railing outside.
Her mind was occupied with the red crescent mark. Her eyes were out of focus.
Hearing it from Jeremy versus seeing it for herself had a very different impact on her.
Even though the test results were not out yet, he felt that his gut feeling could not be
wrong.
The person standing right in front of him was his lost sister.
“I told mom last night, you will sleep in the guest room from now on, and the chores will be done by the servants. You can stay here peacefully, don’t worry,” Jeremy said.
“Did your mom… agree?” Ashlynn asked.
“She listens to his son,” Jeremy said with pride.
Even though Ashlynn was quite surprised, she was still very pleased that she no longer needed to do the chores and had her own room for better sleep.
Ashlynn was even dragged by Jeremy to the dining table to enjoy breakfast.
Marshall was still kind as ever and asked for her not to be restrictive.
Meredith was still mean. “Auntie must be so pissed off. Otherwise, why would she not choose not to come downstairs for breakfast? Ashlynn, how dare you sit at the dining table with us?”
Ashlynn pursed her lips and was feeling uneasy.
Jeremy said coldly, “If you don’t like it, you can go back to your own home for breakfast!”
“Jeremy, please get this straight. I am your sister, and she is an outsider! Who are you siding with?” Meredith could not stand him.
She thought that not only had he gone against her every time, but now he was even taking sides with Ashlynn. He must be going insane.
“I will take the side of whoever makes more sense.” Jeremy gave her a side–eye.
Marshall frowned. “Jeremy, why do you speak to your sister like this?”
Jeremy did not say anything more. He lifted his arm and poured milk for Ashlynn.” Have more of this. It is all organic.”
Meredith was so pissed that she could not continue the breakfast anymore and left.
Aunt Cher saw that and pursued.
They finished breakfast, but Beth was still nowhere to be seen.
Ashlynn, who no longer needed to do the chores, had plenty of free time, so she
stood on the lawn and stared into the emptiness.
Soon, she saw Beth coming out of the front door and walking to her car.
She felt as though Beth noticed her and looked over at her.
Ashlynn could not see her expression clearly and thought Beth must be pissed. Perhaps she was thinking of other ways to torment her.
After all, she lost it to her son and could not publicly fight with her.
That would be ugly.
After Beth got into the car, she felt her head spinning.
She did not dare to take another look at Ashlynn.
Her mind was occupied by the paternity test, she could not even work.
When she reached the office, Beth was so on edge that she did not know whether to
sit down or to keep standing.
She kept calling Jeremy to ask him whether the report was already out.
After ten minutes, Beth called again, “Why is it taking so long?”
“I got it.”
“You… You got it?”
“Wait for me at the office.”
He hung up. Beth did not even have the guts to ask for the outcome.
She even tried to guess if Jeremy hinted anything to her through the phone call.
She felt as though her head was splitting, and her hands and feet were shaking.
Jeremy came fast. Soon, the door opened.
Beth looked at her son, and the paper in his hands, frozen. She could not say a word, as though she was being cast into a statue, or as though she was waiting for the
death sentence.
Jeremy looked at her grimly. “Mom, Ashlynn… is my sister. This is the paternity test report.”
Beth took a step back. Her eyes rocked side to side as she looked at the paper that Jeremy had passed to her.
She received it with shaky hands.
The test result was too hard to miss, boldly printed on the bottom right corner.
Beads of her tears fell onto the paper as she sobbed, “She really… really is my daughter… She is my… little crescent… How did this…”
She collapsed before she could even finish her sentence.
“Mom!” Jeremy immediately went forward to catch her, then moved her to the
couch. “Mom…”
Marshall came in and saw this. “What happened? Jeremy, did you piss your mom off again?”
Chapter 1269
Jeremy did not answer. He pulled out his phone and was about to call the doctor.
Beth regained her consciousness again. She was having a meltdown, and her tears were streaming non–stop.
“Beth, are you feeling unwell? Don’t freak me out!” Marshall hugged her worriedly and rubbed her back. “Did Jeremy piss you off again? I will discipline him later!”
Jeremy stood in the same spot, unbudged.
Beth did not say a word, and her tears kept streaming down.
“What is going on?” Marshall got flustered.
Then, he noticed Beth’s shivering hand that was holding the paper. Her hand was trembling non–stop like a flour sieve.
Full of questions, Marshall took the paper and saw that it was a paternity test result.
However, he could not react when he saw Ashlynn and Beth’s names on top, with the results on the bottom. “What… What is this?”
Beth was caught up in both agony and joy at the same time. She could not say anything. Jeremy explained, “This is the paternity testing of mom and Ashlynn. Dad, Ashlynn is my sister.”
“Wha… What?” Marshall let go of Beth and stood up.
“There is a crescent–shaped birthmark on Ashlynn’s back, and it is blood red in color. I remembered Mom telling me about it and started feeling suspicious. Then, I decided to do a paternity test.” Jeremy
was much calmer than his parents.
In fact, when he first received the report in the hospital, he could not stay calm too.
It was a kind of joy that was too intense that he could not handle it.
Marshall could barely stand still. He supported himself against the couch and sat down slowly.
He looked at the report repeatedly. “Is this… Is this real? My daughter… My daughter is found. She is Ashlynn? Little Crescent?”
He looked at Beth.
Beth held her chest painfully. “Ashlynn is my daughter. What did I do to her? What did I do!” She banged her fist onto her chest, wishing to knock herself dead.
Marshall grabbed her hand. His eyes were watery too. “Beth…”
“She was laying in the operation theater, her face was so pale, while I forced her into the abortion, oh, God!” How ruthlessly Beth had treated Ashlynn back then. That was exactly how much regret and guilt she felt right now. The scene of Ashlynn in the operation theater was cutting right through her heart. “Marshall, Marshall, ah! How can I live!”
Marshall was also caught up in sorrow.
Of course, he knew what Beth did and was secretly supportive.
Jeremy kept quiet the whole time.
“Beth, you did not know about it. You should not blame yourself too much…” Marshall consoled her.
“Who was it… Who was it that dumped my little crescent in the slum? I will make them pay for it!” Beth was in pain.
Marshall sighed heavily.
It had already been two decades. If that were possible to be found out, they would have already found out about it.
“Our daughter is finally back. We should spoil her even more and protect her so that she will not be bullied,” Marshall said.
“No!” Beth was freaked out. “We cannot tell her the truth, we cannot… The things that
I did, she will detest me for it! I am afraid, please don’t tell her…”
She was known as the iron lady at work, but she was a normal mother too.
Losing her daughter was a scar that she could never recover from.
She was so near yet so far from her daughter…
“Mom, we will have to tell her someday. Do you plan to hide this forever?” Jeremy disagreed.
Marshall said, “I understand how your mother feels. Let her process this first!”
Beth then continued to wail.
Ashlynn was completely unaware of the plot twist that happened on this end.
She realized that some things were a little difficult to deal with, but they were never this uncomfortable.
Her identity was so awkward.
Especially since Aunt Cher looked like a vulture waiting to swallow its prey right down its throat.
This reminded Ashlynn about the evil people that were often by the side of evil
witches.
The car came back when she was sitting on the staircase looking bored into the faraway.
Chapter 1270
Ashlynn stood up as she guessed that it was Jeremy.
It was because the Hilton couple would be at work.
Jeremy had rather flexible working hours, which did not really ‘discipline‘ him.
Ashlynn watched as Jeremy walked to her. Just when she wanted to say something, she was pushed over and fell right into a secure, warm hug.
She was stunned.
What is wrong with this person?
“Are you… okay?”
“No, let me hug you.”
“Are you sure that you don’t like me?” Ashlynn asked.
Jeremy let go of her and winked. “I think so!”
“Huh?” Ashlynn could not comprehend.
What did he mean by ‘I think so‘?
Jeremy looked at Ashlynn, from her brows to her face, to her body, and not missing any single strand of her hair.
He felt so overwhelmed to find someone that he had long lost.
“Why are you acting weird?” Ashlynn asked.
Jeremy grinned. “What did you do this morning?”
“Nothing, I just strolled around. It was a little boring.”
“Boring? Let’s go. I’ll bring you out for lunch.” Jeremy put his hands in his pockets and walked out. He turned and looked at Ashlynn, who was still stunned in the same spot, and urged, “Come on!”
Ashlynn followed him into the car.
Aunt Cher watched as Ashlynn did so, and the two soon left the premises together. She could not help but wonder.
Why did the two of them look so close to each other?
Ashlynn watched as the scenery rolled back from the car windows. This was her first
time going out after arriving at the place.
Corentin would never expect her days to actually not be difficult at all.
If he knew about it, he probably would try to think of something to torment her again.
She turned her gaze back and realized Jeremy was still watching her.
“Is there something on my face?” Ashlynn could not help but say.
“Ashlynn, do you hate my mother?” Jeremy asked.
Ashlynn did not expect him to ask this, so she did not reply to him immediately.
“Ashlynn, I am truly sorry for what they did to you. I hope you can move on from the past. My parents will never ever do something that will hurt you again, I can promise you.”
Ashlynn looked out the window blankly. “Your mother lost her daughter and treated Meredith like her own, this is understandable, but I will never forgive.”
Not only did this reply not make Jeremy any easier, but he felt even heavier hearing it.
If Ashlynn knew her actual identity, she would feel worse…
It was still a little early for lunch, so Jeremy brought Ashlynn to the mall to shop. He bought her a lot of designer pieces.
Ashlynn had never seen someone splurging as much as Jeremy before.
Even if money were only paper at the end of the day, she would still feel the pain at the sight of it.
She was also shocked.
When Jeremy was about to purchase her a watch that cost close to a million, she went forward to stop him. “No!”
“Why?”
“Are you trying to freak me out? Why did you purchase so many things for me?” Ashlynn still could not calm herself down.
“I just wanted to make up for your injuries yesterday. Can’t I do so? Plus, from now on, you can spend all my money, and I will protect you. Who dares to bully you, I will kick their asses,” Jeremy said confidently.
