Ch. 1056..1060: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1056-1060

Chapter 1056

After that? Ashlynn suppressed her unhappiness and said, “You don’t have to keep me on such a tight watch, do you? I am your wife. Where else can I go?”

“I have a bit of time later. We can go to visit Anne together.” Corentin said, and then he stood up, and went around the big working table to Ashlynn, “Now, I am thinking about being naughty to you.”

Then, his hand reached out to her soft tiny waist and pulled her in his direction.

“No… This is the office,” Ashlynn whimpered.

“Told you I am naughty.” Corentin pushed her to the couch.

“Ah!” Ashlynn fell onto the couch, her two legs dangling on the armrest of the couch.

Then, Corentin pounced on her like a wolf.

Ashlynn’s high heels shoes dropped onto the floor with a soft thud. Her shiny toes were revealed and were curling because of the discomfort.

Corentin’s behavior revealed the true colors of Salvatore.

If this were the real Corentin, he would not have done something like this in broad daylight at the office!

If Ashlynn wanted to go to Luton, he would have allowed her.

Finally, Ashlynn came out of the office when her lunch break was over, and her legs were shaking.

She limped her way to the secretary’s office.

As soon as she sat down, Evan passed by for some other errands. Ashlynn caught him and asked, “Did the CEO say that he would send me to outstation?”

“No.”

Ashlynn leaned against the seat and could not think of any other ways of getting herself to Luton.

Did she miss out on such a golden opportunity? She could not send via delivery either, it will be blocked by Corentin…

Not long after Ashlynn went out, Corentin sat in his chair afresh, and the phone on his table rang. He took one look and then answered, “Paul, what’s up?”

After hearing what Paul told him, Corentin’s relaxed expression was immediately fierce. “What are you waiting for? Quickly clean it up for me!”

He was so pissed that he kicked the coffee table over.

Ashlynn was about to get some food. She walked out of the office, and Evan walked by. “Ashlynn, please prepare and then follow Hilton to Luton at three in the afternoon.” Ashlynn was shocked. “Me?”

“Yes, the CEO requested it.” Then Evan left.

Ashlynn was confused. Corentin disagreed, had he not?

Could this be a reward for her ‘effort‘ in the office?

However, when she asked Evan about it the first time, he told her that the CEO did not ask her to go to outstation.

She gave up on guessing, and she thought that she could never understand Corentin.

Ashlynn was feeling even more pressured now that she could go to Luton.

Mr. Hilton’s full name was Jeremy Hilton, Meredith Hilton’s cousin.

She heard that this man was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he was rather lax and lazy.

However, no one dared to challenge or advise him in the Hilton family. He was arrogant, and so naturally, he could not learn what he was supposed to.

Therefore, the old Mr. Hilton suggested that Jeremy come over to the Lloyd Group. Of course, Cory Lloyd was happy because this meant that the two families were closer than ever.

Cory’s intention was to get the two families to be married. For now, firstly, he could not offend old Mr. Hilton. Secondly, he needed to close the loop on the issue between Corentin and Meredith. Thirdly, he wished that Jeremy could screw something up within the Lloyd Group that would be able to put the Hilton family on lower ground.

Ashlynn thought that if Cory allowed Jeremy to join their company, the company was running a legit business.

Ashlynn knocked on Jeremy’s door after eating something.

There was no sound from within.

She found it odd, and the assistant was just telling her that Jeremy was around.

She knocked again, and there was still no one answering.

She could not help but push the door and enter.

As soon as she entered, she saw something flying right toward her head and immediately dodged.

Chapter 1057

The books, which were a few centimeters behind her, slammed onto the door and dropped to the ground.

If they had landed on Ashlynn’s head, she would probably be on the ground, unconscious, by now.

“I said it before. I am taking a nap, can’t you understand?”

Ashlynn looked toward the sound and found Jeremy howling furiously.

“Mr. Hilton, I am Ashlynn… I will follow you to outstation at three in the afternoon. today,” Ashlynn said.

Even though he was throwing a tantrum and his clothes were a mess with his necktie slanted, he still looked rather elegant. He was indeed born with a silver spoon.

When Jeremy heard her self–introduction, he stopped throwing his tantrum and then looked at her intensely. “Oh, so you are Ashlynn.”

He sounded as though he had long heard about her impressive background.

Jeremy walked to her and then looked at her with his judgemental gaze. “Of course, you are somewhat pretty to be Corentin’s lover. However…”

Ashlyn knew that Jeremy must have heard about her from Meredith and was ready to face some difficult requests from him.

“You did great!” Jeremy slapped his palm onto her shoulder.

Ashlynn could feel her bones tighten a little, and she was shocked by his reaction.

“Meredith, the arrogant woman with no manners, deserves her lesson! This time, I support you!” Jeremy sounded as though he had finally found a friend.

Ashlynn had never expected this out of Jeremy.

That way, she would not be concerned about things being made difficult along the way.

Jeremy was happy to be sent to outstation because he had a chance to roam around.

He also did not like the long haul, so he drove his family’s helicopter.

Jeremy had a license to drive the helicopter himself, and he was indeed raised rich.

He noticed Ashlynn’s gaze and asked, “Are you interested in learning this?”

“No, I won’t have a helicopter to drive even if I have the license. It would be a waste,” Ashlynn said.

“Get Corentin to buy one for you! He has money!” Jeremy suggested.

Ashlynn had never doubted this.

No matter what she wanted, Corentin would buy for her.

Too bad those were not Salvatore’s. She did not want anything from Salvatore either.

She only wanted to get away from the nightmare that involved Salvatore completely.

Ashlynn’s eyes were opened wide when she rode the helicopter. She looked at the tiny little cars and the rivers and mountains underneath.

For the first time ever, she was not in Corentin’s area of watch.

Ashlynn could not help but look at Jeremy next to her. Could he be a spy for Corentin?

She could not let her guard down.

“How many days should we stay in Luton?” Ashlynn asked.

“Of course, as many as we can. The last time I visited Luton was about two years ago. There were many fun places around, and I will bring you to experience it.”

“We are here for work.”

“We just need to run through the procedure. However, you won’t tell Corentin that I brought you to have fun, will you?” Jeremy said.

“No.” Ashlynn was the one who was afraid that he would tell on her!

Even though Jeremy said so, Ashlynn was still on guard. Better safe than sorry.

Within less than an hour, the helicopter reached Luton.

It landed on the top of a skyscraper nearby.

They got off and took a cab to Archidux Limited.

The people who welcomed them were Oliver and Ivan.

Then, they went to the factory to inspect the progress of the medical equipment.

After going back, they had dinner together.

Chapter 1058

Ashlynn wanted to see Anne because she had already called her.

However, she was dragged by Jeremy and Xander to the bar.

This kind of place must cost an arm and a leg to be frequented by the rich.

Ashlynn was just tagging along.

Jeremy was carefree. He ordered more than ten female models to the room, wishing to give each of them at least three escorts for company.

The girls were experienced and were really good at sweet talking.

Jeremy even wanted to order a male escort for Ashlynn, but she declined.

If Corentin knew about it, Jeremy would be doomed.

Luckily, a phone call came in, and Ashlynn used it as an excuse to go pick up the call.

It was Anne. “What’s up?”

“I am at the bar, I can’t leave. I will go over it tomorrow, Anne. You rest early.”

“Okay, you have fun.”

She hung up but did not make it back to the room immediately. Instead, Ashlynn called Marco and asked him out.

Then, she returned to the room and saw the men laughing.

Soon, she received a message. She took one look and made an excuse to go out again.

It was Marco sending his location tracking.

She followed the red carpet and walked further in. She took a left turn, then a right, and was about to go out into the alley.

The door beside her opened and someone dragged her inside.

“Ah!”

“It’s me.”

Ashlynn saw a man. “You are… Inspector York?”

After all, they had only been in contact through the phone and had never met each other.

“Yes, did you bring the stuff?”

Ashlynn passed him the USB drive and said, “If I can prove that Corentin is Salvatore, can we prosecute him then?”

“It would be hard for him to get away with the evidence. Let me have a listen first.” Marco retrieved his laptop from his bag and plugged in the USB drive.

Ashlynn had not heard the audio in the USB drive before either, and she thought that since Gavin gave it to her, it must be something useful.

He clicked open the audio, and a man’s deep voice could be heard. “I just found out that I have a younger brother. What a shame to get to know you this way.”

Then someone snickered. “The steal my heart way?”

Even though their voices were so similar that it was hard to identify who was who, Ashlynn could immediately distinguish which one belonged to Corentin and which one belonged to Salvatore.

“This is inevitable since you have to die, you might as well leave your heart behind, and I will live for you.”

Then, it was another sarcastic laugh. “Aren’t you afraid of filth, to use my heart? I grew up in the filthy waters. My blood was filled with mud, beware of incompatibility, and you might die on the spot.”

“We are blood brothers, and I believe this will not happen. I am grateful to you for this.

“Likewise.”

Then, they heard someone pulling the stool across the floor, and their hearts raced.

Marco rewinded the audio to replay.

They heard a faint noise.

Someone fell to the ground, struggled, and fell silent in ten seconds.

Then, someone entered the room. It was some scurrying noises. No one said a thing, and nothing more pinpointing was presented after that.

It was Gavin who realized something was off at first. However, the mastermind behind this was Cory Lloyd, so he had to give up.

Chapter 1059

Ashlynn’s appearance forced him to hand over the audio.

After that, Ashlynn asked, “How is it? Can we prosecute Salvatore?”

“No.”

“Why not? I can identify which was Salvatore and which one was Corentin,” Ashlynn said.

“They had never mentioned each other’s name from the beginning to the end. This audio can only tell that they were brothers with a pretty bad relationship, but it cannot be the crucial evidence to prosecute Salvatore. I have met the current Corentin, and I think he is much more ruthless than the real Corentin and much smarter.” Marco shook his head.

Ashlynn was disappointed.

In fact, she understood it deep down. How would it be so easily solved?

She only wanted to escape her nightmare desperately, and so she was full of anticipation.

Would Corentin suspect her if she were not pregnant the first month, but not for the second too, nor the third?

How long could she use her excuse of not being able to conceive a child because of miscarriage?

“Don’t worry. He will surely slip up sooner or later,” Marco said.

“I know. Right, are you still investigating the murder of Anne’s father?” Ashlynn said.

“I am, but is Ms. Vallois certain that Bianca Faye was the person who killed her father?”

“Yes, she is very positive about it. She had regained her memories, but she still could not see. It is very inconvenient for her. Please investigate thoroughly to make sure the guilty person is caught,” Ashlynn pleaded.

“Don’t worry. As long as this is about her, I will continue investigating.”

“Sure, is there anything that I can…” Before Ashlynn could finish her sentence, room door was kicked open. The loud noise made everyone inside jump.

the

Marco blocked in front of Ashlynn and looked at the intruders defensively:

Owen brought two of his associates along with him and saw the two people inside. He kicked the stool next to him. “Are you having a date here? Am I intruding?”

Ashlynn’s face went pale when she saw Owen.

She did not expect to be discovered by Owen when meeting Marco in secret.

This must not be a coincidence. This was Luton…

“Who are you?” Marco asked.

Ashlynn said, “They are Corentin’s people.”

Marco’s eyes squinted and looked fierce.

After all, he was always tracking Corentin, and he had never seen these people before.

Did that mean that all along, he had only managed to investigate the surface, barely touching the surface?

“Inspector York, what are you doing here with Mrs. Lloyd? Is it what we think it is? If Mr. Lloyd knows about this, it will be bad,” Owen said mischievously.

“No…” Marco wanted to say something but was stopped by Ashlynn.

“I don’t know him. I drank a little alcohol in the room and wanted to find a place to rest. I didn’t expect someone to be here. I wanted to go out, but you guys came in.”

Owen knew who Marco was. He did not really want to create trouble for Mr. Lloyd. If anything really happened, he would leave it to be handled by Mr. Lloyd.

As for Ashlynn…

“Why don’t you explain to Mr. Lloyd yourself?” Owen waved at his two associates.

The two men went forward to grab Ashlynn.

Ashlynn flung their hands away. “I can walk!”

She did not want to involve Marco, so she left the room.

She walked on the red carpet toward Jeremy’s room. However, Owen blocked her way.

“Don’t you try to stay here any longer! Move alone!” Owen was not gentle and grabbed her arm aggressively, pulling her out of the bar.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” Ashlynn was dragged all the way out of the bar.

She was only released when they were outside.

Ashlynn looked rather displeased. “Owen, I am here in Luton for work. Mr. Hilton is still in the room, andil need to go to him…”

Chapter 1060

“I think you are trying to escape!” Owen pushed her. “Ashlynn, you had betrayed Mr. Lloyd before, and now you are accusing him. What a shame that he is so good to you! You are as heartless as ever!”

Ashlynn panicked and explained, “I think you misunderstood. I said that I don’t know him.”

“Who would believe you?” Owen looked as though he had done something rewarding. “I had already informed Mr. Lloyd about this, and he is on his way now.” Ashlynn was stunned.

Corentin was rushing here in the middle of the night, and that only explained something. He was here to ‘take care‘ of her!

What should she do…

Owen pushed her into the car and brought her to a mansion.

Ashlynn got out of the car and looked at the strange place, not moving an inch.

Owen said, “Mr. Lloyd bought this place not too long ago. It is useful now. After all, it is not convenient for him to make too much noise at the hotel.”

She was shaken by the word ‘noise‘. He meant Corentin was about to do something very bad to her.

Ashlynn knew how twisted Corentin could be and could not help but start to freak out.

“Go inside!” Owen pushed her hard.

Ashlynn almost slammed onto the ground.

Owen looked at Ashlynn inside the house with his ferocious gaze.

He really wanted to destroy this woman and leave no trace of her!

Keeping this woman around was such a disaster!

She framed Mr. Lloyd again, and she was obviously testing Mr. Lloyd’s limits!

What other reasons were there for Mr. Lloyd to keep her!

Therefore, he needed not to lift a single finger and would leave her to Mr. Lloyd instead.

Ashlynn entered the mansion, and there was not a single soul inside.

Even though it was nothing like the one in Athetin, it was not small either, and the overall space felt empty.

Even though the lights were on, the place felt eerie, as if this would be her future graveyard.

It was dead quiet after the car outside left. Apparently, Owen and his people were keeping her on the watch to prevent her from escaping while waiting for Corentin to arrive.

Ashlynn was panicking, and she did not have the guts to go to bed.

She felt like a criminal waiting for a verdict.

She only had her phone with her. Her bag was left in the room at the bar.

She called Jeremy, but no one answered.

She called Xander. It rang a few times before it was answered. She informed him that Corentin would be here soon and that she had left the bar early.

She hung up and looked at Corentin’s number. She calmed herself down before calling.

It felt like a tormenting wait, especially when Corentin did not pick up.

She called twice, but both to no avail.

She sat on the couch, hugging her head in between her arms, feeling flustered.

Corentin was already on his way there but did not pick up his phone, which meant things were serious.

Five years ago, she framed Salvatore the same way. Five years later, history repeated itself. Would Corentin make sure she dies this time?

She had witnessed firsthand Corentin’s ruthlessness.

Ashlynn could not calm down, and she wanted to leave.

She wanted to leave so desperately, so badly.

It was such a creepy place.

It would be best for her to leave the place and avoid Corentin.

Ashlynn edged to the door and saw the human shadows on both sides of the door. She knew it was Owen and the gang.

She turned, went upstairs, entered the room, and looked down from the balcony.

She did not see anyone around there.

She ripped the bed sheets off and tied one edge to the railing of the balcony. Then, she moved her body slowly down the fabric.

The bed sheet was not long enough for two stories.

Ashlynn visually sized her landing point, and the height, then loosened her hands and jumped. She rolled on the ground to reduce impact.

Just when she was about to stand up, she heard a helicopter from afar.

When she realized that the helicopter was going to land in the mansion, she knew that it was Corentin arriving fast!

Ashlynn wanted to run away.

The mansion was surrounded by tall walls.

She ran to the corner of the wall and then to the railing. She stepped her foot onto the wall, at the same time, using her hand to grab the top of the wall, and climbed up with great difficulty. Then, she hopped off the wall.

The helicopter stopped, and Corentin disembarked from it.

“Mr. Lloyd, she is inside,” Owen said.

Corentin was intimidating. He radiated a scary vibe as he walked into the mansion.

He did not see Ashlynn after entering.

He went to the bedroom and saw the bed sheet hanging over the railing of the balcony.

Corentin laughed, his eyes radiating blood lust.

Ashlynn used all her might to run forward as soon as she reached the ground. She did not dare to stop or look back.

However, she could never outrun a four–wheel.

She was barely a kilometer away when she heard the car behind her.

Ashlynn immediately accelerated. She did not dare to stop.

Perhaps it was not Corentin. Perhaps it was just some other passerby.

The car drove past her.

Then, with a loud screech, it stopped horizontally in front of Ashlynn.

Ashlynn’s way was blocked. She stopped and panted. Her heart and lungs were almost leaping out of her throat.

The cars blocked both in front and behind her.

Ashlynn saw Corentin getting off the car in front of her, and her red cheeks immediately went pale.

She watched as Corentin walked to her, and she could not see his expression in the light. His face was so dark that it looked like a scary, twisted creature.

“Corentin, I called you, but you did not… Ah!” Before Ashlynn could finish, her hair was pulled by Corentin, and she could feel as though her scalp was about to be pulled apart by him.

Corentin dragged her hair and slammed it forcefully against the car.

“Ah!” Ashlynn slammed into the car, her whole body shaking.

Owen stood by the side and watched as Ashlynn was beaten up, waiting for her to be beaten to death.

Corentin walked to her. “Damn you…” He grabbed Ashlynn’s hair again and pulled her to the back.

“Hmmm!” Ashlynn was forced to look up. Her face was full of horror.

“A mistake is called a mistake the first time. The second time would be called a folly! Ash, are you tired of living?” Corentin’s scary face engulfed her.

Ashlynn closed her eyes, her voice trembling, “I… I don’t know what Owen told you, but it is not like what you think…”

“You shut up!” Corentin howled and flung her away.

“Ah!” Ashlynn was slammed into the ground in front of the car, her whole body shaking.

It was as though she was facing a lethal monster.

Light shone through from behind Corentin’s back, casting a long shadow on her body, looking like a monster.
