“W…What are you talking about?” Logan stammered, intimidated by Alex’s dark glare. Alex’s voice turned cold

“I’ve never known you to stammer, Logan.” His menacing raised brows made Logan nervous.

All attention was not focused on him, including that of the woman beside him. She was unsure of the situation, but remained silent as per the earlier warning when she flirted with Alex.

Logan, feeling trapped by Alex’s demeanor, tried to deflect by bursting into laughter.

“How could your wife have been drugged? Weren’t you supposed to be watching over her? Didn’t you say she was working late?” He kept throwing one question after the other in the bid to buy time the moment Alex began to answer them.
