thought if they couldn’t stop her from getting her stuff, at least they could stop her from getting more.

“But, urn, it might be too late,” the assistant said hesitantly. They didn’t expect Nicole’s moves, and now

it seemed too late to do anything.

“Try anyway,” Everett’s face got darker as he looked at the assistant.
