It was already nine by the time they finished their meal and left the restaurant.

As Sally mentioned that she was a little listless and wanted to get some fresh air, they aimlessly walked along the streets.

Cooper held the slender woman in his arms. “When Ninette came out of the school with her classmates, a speeding car ran over and killed her.”

Upon hearing that, Sally stopped in her tracks.

She lowered her head and muttered, “I remember that when Dad brought Stefo back, Stefo wasn’t even one year old. Mom took him as her own child, and she would feel upset whenever he cried. Ever since young, Dad would never lay a finger on Stefo, whereas when I bullied him, Dad would sternly reprimand me.”

She added, “At that time, I still had no idea that Stefan wasn’t my biological brother and even thought that Dad valued his son more than his daughter. Hence, I often complained about it to Ethan and claimed I was glad to have him care about me.”
