Liam stated coolly, “It’s Saturday. | don’t have to work.”

“Oh.” Caprice mouthed.

He shot a look at her. “What are you doing here?” *

Caprice avoided his gaze, “I was going to visit your mom, but it turns out she’s not around. | was just about to leave.” He glanced at the driveway, and something flickered inside his eyes. “Who drove you here just now?”

She confessed, “Piper’s brother. He’s a good friend of mine back in Glanchester.”

“How long have you known him?”

“Around ten years.”
