Cherise’s lips pressed together when she heard Maeve’s name.

She admitted that she had a very poor impression of Maeve at first. The woman had robbed Mandy of nearly twenty years of her life and left Mandy’s face permanently marked. She had even attacked Cherise’s biological mother at Cherise and Damien’s wedding.

However, time continued to run, and five years had gone by. Faced with a completely remorseful Maeve, Cherise found it hard to hold onto her hatred. Moreover, Maeve had been genuinely good to Ren and Sera, making Cherise see Maeve as a true family member.

Now, though, things had taken a bad turn.

Cherise sighed. “Maeve is… Even once she wakes up, the situation won’t be good. You need to be prepared mentally.”

Maeve’s illness concerned her heart. Such a condition couldn’t handle anger, stress, or intense emotions. Not even the best doctors could save her if her emotions got out of control.
