Damien offered a small smile. “Investigating you wasn’t my intention. Actually, I’m

a major shareholder in the Tanner Group myself. Someone’s been digging into my affairs lately, so I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.”

Mandy’s jaw dropped. “Hold on! When did you become a major shareholder? How come I had no clue?”

Damien yawned, his gaze drifting out the window. “It’s been a while,” he mumbled.
