“Oh, I get it now,” Jude remarked casually as he strolled into the room, wearing a smirk that didn’t escape Anthony’s notice.

Taking a seat opposite him, he continued, “I thought you were so riled up today because Colin outshone you at the company that you wanted to strangle my dear Mom.”

With a calm gesture, Jude adjusted the blanket on Dorothy, his grin widening as he met Anthony’s gaze. “You might want to be careful with those neck massages in the future. If Mom turns up strangled one day, you won’t have a convincing alibi.”

Anthony maintained his steely gaze, his lips pressed into a tight line.

“Come on, Dad,” Jude pressed on, his voice laced with nonchalance.

Leaning back in his chair, he continued, “Rumor has it the morning meeting was quite the showdown.”
