After Daniel’s mother said that, she realized that Madeline and Jeremy were also there. Her expression suddenly became very strange.

“What’s happening today? Mr. and Mrs. Whitman, you’re also here.”

“Mrs. Graham, we didn’t come to argue with you. We’re here to find Dan,” Madeline explained directly.

Daniel’s mother smiled. “Last night, Dan said he was going out to pick this woman up from work, but Dan didn’t come back all night and isn’t answering his phone. Now, for whatever reason, you guys are here for Dan. Are you kidding me?”

“Ava, where are you going?”

“I’m going to find that woman and question her! If something has happened to Danny, she must have something to do with it!” Ava said, running down the street to hail a taxi.

Madeline hurriedly asked Jeremy to drive after her. “Ava, get in the car. We’ll go wherever you want to go.”

After hearing that, Ava got into the car decisively and said, “Let’s go to the Mendez family’s manor.”

“The Mendez Manor?” Madeline gradually understood.

“Do you suspect Dan’s disappearance has something to do with Naya’s mother?”

“It must be her.” Ava was very sure. “After Naya was sentenced to prison, she did a series of extreme things. Apart from her, I can’t think of another person who would do such a crazy thing.”

Jeremy analyzed.

“She’s been arrogant and willful since young. Her mother has spoiled her rotten. Hence, her mother might do some insane things for her inhumane precious daughter. However, I think it’s better not to go to her house to look for her right now.”

When Ava heard Jeremy’s suggestion, she was confused.

“Why can’t I go to the Mendez family’s manor to look for that maniac? The longer it is, the more danger Danny might be in.”

“But if you go to look for her and she did kidnap Daniel, then you’ll be inadvertently alerting the enemy. This might result in Daniel being in more danger,” Jeremy explained why he was stopping Ava.

“Did Naya’s mother really ask someone to do this?” Madeline was still doubtful.

“Naya likes Dan so much, so how could she hurt the man her precious daughter loves?”

“She wants to destroy the thing that she can’t have. Someone as selfish as Naya would definitely do something like this.” Ava clenched both of her fists tightly.

‘Danny, you need to be safe.’ Ava prayed silently in her heart.

Even though Jeremy was right, when Ava thought about how Daniel might be in danger right now, her heart could not stop racing. She followed Madeline and Jeremy back to Whitman Corporation, but she still could not calm herself down.

When Madeline and Jeremy were discussing something in their office, Ava snuck out to look for Naya’s mother with the excuse of going to the restroom. However, after hearing what Jeremy said, Ava prepared a backup plan for herself. She did not enter the Mendez family’s manor straight away. Instead, she got out of the car at a place nearby. After that, she just watched the movements in front of the Mendez family’s manor in secret.

As time passed, Madeline realized that Ava had not come back after she went to the restroom. She called Ava but Ava just told her that she was feeling very frustrated right now, so she went out to take a walk by herself. Madeline said she wanted to go with Ava, but after Ava rejected Madeline incoherently, she hung up the phone.

At this moment, Ava saw Esther walking out of the gates. As a lady from a rich family, she would usually have drivers driving her around. However, this time, Esther was calling for a cab at the side of the road.

This looked very fishy.

Ava also called a cab to follow behind Esther.

The car drove southwest and headed into different junctions. Soon, Ava noticed that the cars on the road were getting fewer and fewer.

Ava was worried that Esther would notice her, so she asked the driver to keep a distance from her. After about half an hour, Ava could see the car that Esther was in driving in the opposite direction.

Ava took a look and saw there was no one else in the car apart from the driver.

Ava told the driver to stop and walked forward carefully. She looked ahead, and in front of her were some old houses that were going to be demolished. It seemed that no one was living here anymore.

‘Is Dan being locked up here?’ Ava thought to herself and moved slowly toward the old buildings.

However, there were so many houses here. Even if Daniel were here, it would be hard for her to find out his exact location. After thinking for a while, she thought of a plan. She picked up a pretty heavy rock and threw it heavily at a wall.

With a thud, it fell down and created a dull sound.

After that, Ava quickly found a concealed place to hide before pricking up her ears to listen to the sounds around her.
