“Milo is actually pretty decent,” Titus said after a brief silence, unexpectedly speaking up for him.

Caleb also fell quiet. After thinking it over, he sighed. “Yeah… aside from him, I’m afraid no one else would even dare marry our Belle.”

“That’s not entirely true,” Titus replied. “My master likes Belle a lot. He’s mentioned more times than I can count that he wants to form a marriage alliance with your family. It’s just that Fabian—he feels about Belle the same way I do. We all grew up playing together, so what formed was sibling affection.”

Lilian adored Belle and had long hoped to send her son to the Serenity family, wishing Serenity would raise Fabian as a future son-in-law so the two could grow up as carefree childhood sweethearts.
