“Deal.” Alex picked up two fruit baskets and handed one to her. “I’ll pick two baskets for you to take home today.”

Aitana laughed. “I’m eating and taking at the same time.”

Alex said lightly, “It’s not worth much money. I’m just glad you don’t mind. If you didn’t eat or take any, my grandma would be upset. She’d think you didn’t like the fruit we grow.”
