The old lady said, “Alex, you need to go on a business trip next week. One of your subsidiary companies is running into some issues, and you can’t afford to take it lightly. Your competitor this time is no pushover, so don’t get careless.”

Alex’s expression grew solemn. “Grandma, I know. I was actually planning to leave in the next couple of days to handle it. I won’t give them an opening.”

The old lady continued, “Aitana is taking Saturday off. Didn’t we agree to invite her over to your house? It’ll be a good chance for her to spend some time with me too. I worked hard—practically at the cost of my own pride—to set up this opportunity for you.”

To her, business mattered—but getting her grandson a wife mattered even more.
