Alex said calmly, “I’m perfectly healthy. Why would I fake an illness? If I wanted to see Aitana, I could walk straight in and look for her. I don’t need excuses.”

“My grandmother came for a checkup yesterday,” Alex added. “I’m just here to pick up her results and let Aitana look them over.”
