“The York family truly is an elite family,” Uncle Pollock said thoughtfully. “They have a strong foundation and solid values.”

He glanced at his niece and added gently, “It’s still early. Go upstairs and take a nap — even half an hour would do you good.”

With Aitana’s busy schedule, a short rest at noon was a blessing. If she skipped it, she’d have to rely on coffee to stay awake in the afternoon — and in his opinion, it was always better to sleep than to drink caffeine.

Aitana nodded. “Okay, Uncle. I’ll go rest for a bit. Alex will pick me up later. My scooter’s still at the hospital, so he’ll take me back to work.”

Uncle Pollock smiled knowingly. “Don’t worry. Since Alex said he’d take you, he’ll keep his word. He won’t leave without you.”

Alex, he thought, was far more considerate than Joaquin.
