Chapter 4882
As soon as Leonidas sat in the taxi, he muttered to himself, “He values beauty over brotherhood.”
Now that River had someone he loved, even Leonidas — his closest partner — was taking a backseat.
Still, he was happy for him. River had found true love in Eaglioncile, and Romina was the eldest daughter of the Lafayette family. Once they got married, River would likely settle here permanently. That meant Leonidas wouldn’t have to worry about River returning to Wiltspoon to inherit his family’s empire.
After marriage, River would focus on his life in Eaglioncile, and Leonidas could fully hand over the company to him, returning to his easygoing, hands-off lifestyle.
From then on, he could stop meddling in company affairs altogether. He’d still get the latest gossip from other executives — that was enough for him.
In truth, River had dragged Leonidas back to work intentionally. His return to the company had given River the opportunity to delegate more confidently.
Even if Leonidas hadn’t come back, River — who was courting Romina — would’ve eventually pulled him in anyway. Managing Yantail while pursuing his fiancée would’ve required Leonidas’s presence sooner or later.
