River had to notify his parents on short notice.
Rosella and Matthias scrambled to book flights. They had considered taking a private jet, but the required flight route approval would’ve taken too long, so they abandoned the idea and opted for a commercial flight instead.
The journey from Wiltspoon to Eaglioncile took over three hours, and they didn’t arrive until sometime after three or four in the afternoon.
Not only did Rosella and Matthias come, but so did Tania and Liam, along with Madisyn and Bowen — all of them River’s elders.
Before any of River’s brothers got married, when it came time for both families to meet and discuss marriage, Tania and the others had always been present. Naturally, River followed the same tradition.
If it weren’t for the old lady’s age, she would’ve wanted to come to Eaglioncile as well.
River suspected his grandmother was eager to join, so he specifically told his parents not to bring her along. She was elderly now and not as strong as she used to be. He wanted her to stay home and take care of the great-grandchildren.
