The next morning, River woke up early and personally prepared a loving breakfast for the woman he adored. After packing everything neatly into an insulated lunch box, he drove to the Lafayette Group and waited outside Romina’s office.
The secretary, who had arrived earlier than Romina, saw him standing there and kindly suggested, “Mr. York, why don’t you wait in the VIP room?”
River shook his head. “No need. I’ll wait here. I want Romina to see me the moment she steps out of the elevator.”
The secretary couldn’t help but smile to herself.

Romina arrived at the company earlier than usual that morning. Her brother had assumed she would sleep in and skip breakfast, but instead, she had come in early—just to enjoy the breakfast River had promised to bring.
