Rowan shrugged. “Yeah, I can’t picture it, but being an uncle isn’t bad. A niece is like a daughter too. I’ve always treated Belle that way.”
Then he turned to Maverick. “Buddy, take Belle outside to play. Uncle Rowan’s gonna ask your Uncle Alex if he’s hiding an aunt somewhere for you.”
Maverick grinned. “Uncle Rowan, if Uncle Alex has an aunt hidden, let’s go find her.”
Rowan laughed. “If Uncle Alex hasn’t brought her back, we won’t find her. Don’t worry—if she’s around, I’ll definitely help you look. Now go play!”
Maverick agreed, smiling, already knowing Uncle Rowan was joking.
