Aitana had no interest in what Joaquin might say or do when he returned to his clinic. She truly didn’t love him.
She couldn’t accept him.
She refused to settle.
When the clinic finally quieted down, Aitana and Alex left together.
They strolled toward Wordisk Garden.
Looking at the long street lined with shops, Aitana remembered Alex once saying this entire street belonged to his family.
“Mr. York,” she asked, “how did your family decide to buy an entire street of shops here? When did you acquire them?”
“I’m not really sure,” Alex admitted. “My sister-in-law handles things now. I’ll ask her the next time I see her. Some of the shops were actually given to us as repayment by people who couldn’t settle their debts.”
