Aitana worked at Wiltspoon’s top hospital. Joaquin genuinely liked her, but he also liked the convenience her position could bring when arranging treatment for his family.
The Pollock family had practiced medicine for six generations. Some owned clinics, some worked in major hospitals, others in private facilities. Their network in the medical field was vast.
Joaquin’s achievements were impressive for someone who had risen on his own, but he was the only Legare who had studied medicine and had a promising career. It would be naïve to say he wasn’t at least partly drawn to the Pollock family’s status and connections.
“So he’s really Dr. Pollock’s patient?” one of the waiting patients murmured. “I thought he was Dr. Legare’s rival.”
Second Aunt smiled faintly. “If he is, do you think Dr. Legare still stands a chance?”
