“Mom, how’s Grandma Reading? Is she okay?” Serenity asked with concern.

Tania’s gentle voice came through the line. “It’s her old problem—insomnia. She hasn’t been sleeping well and now has a headache. Tell her not to overthink. Older people are light sleepers. The more they dwell on things, the harder it gets to fall asleep.”

Poor sleep often left Grandma Reading with headaches. Sometimes all it took was one restless night.

“We called the family doctor,” Tania continued. “It’s nothing serious. She’s had insomnia for years. Seren, your grandma said not to worry. She wants you and Zack to bring the kids to visit when you have time.”

Serenity felt relieved. “Please tell Grandma Reading that once Zachary’s schedule lightens up, we’ll bring the children over. She just needs to eat well, drink well, and keep herself happy.”
