Jasmine quickly followed up, “My in-laws and uncle would be happy to come too—anything to help you keep an eye on my wild boy so my husband and I can enjoy a quiet summer.”

The whole group broke out in laughter.

The old lady was beaming, her smile stretching from ear to ear. “Alright, alright! Send them all over! I love the noise and chaos. Even if they tear the whole house apart, I’ll still be happy. And yes, bring your parents and in-laws too. There’s plenty of room at Wildridge Manor. Even if everyone came, we’d still have empty rooms.”

She looked forward to winter and summer vacations every year. That’s when the great-grandkids came home.

On regular weekends, only Zachary’s and Kevin’s children would return to keep her company for a couple of days. The others stayed with their parents and rarely visited on weekends.
