“Brother.” Belle’s ability to express herself was still limited, but she said just enough. One word—brother—was all it took for Serenity to understand what she meant.
Serenity smiled and said, “Let’s finish packing up first, then we’ll wake your brother. Or do you want to go wake him up yourself?”
Belle nodded eagerly.
Serenity carried her to the bedroom door, opened it, set her down gently, and let the little girl knock on Maverick’s door.
Then she went back to finish packing.
Most of their things had already been packed the night before. Now she just needed to gather the toys Belle had played with last night.
