Serenity asked, “Sister, what’s wrong? Haven’t you decided yet? Didn’t you say you and Brother Duncan would make it official before the New Year?”
Duncan was already planning the proposal.
“I’ve thought about it,” Liberty replied, “but when it’s time to actually do it, I get nervous. I don’t know if Sonny will accept it. I’ll be spending a lot of time in Jensburg—will Duncan be okay with that?”
She paused before continuing. “Thinking about it is one thing, but actually doing it is different. Duncan and I haven’t been together for very long, not even as long as I was with Hank. Hank and I were together for years, but in the end… Seren, I know Duncan is different from Hank, but after going through one divorce, it’s hard not to overthink things.
