Lily seemed to have read Liberty’s thoughts and smiled. “Duncan didn’t ask me to come here to persuade you. I just found out that Duncan kept getting rejected by you, so I couldn’t help but put in a good word for him.”

“Ms. Harmon, I only consider Mr. Lewis as a friend.”

“Is it because Mrs. Lewis doesn’t accept you?”

“It has nothing to do with Mrs. Lewis. I truly only regard Mr. Lewis as a friend and have no other intentions.”
